This book starts off with Alex as a normal teenage boy. He then discovers his late uncle was a spy and the company he worked for now wants Alex too. I could relate to the protagonist a lot as we are around the same age. When it came to action the level of detail and the short sentences really gave you a great picture in your mind and made it feel like it was going as fast as some scenes in movies. The author really made you feel like you were in the moment. The only thing that wasn't the best was it was like everything was too easy for the protagonist and there was always an option where he could escape or get the easy way out. There wasn't really any stage in the book where it felt like the protagonist lost, except for when his uncle died. Overall , though, this book really made me want to see the rest of this characters missions in the series.
It said it would have some behind the scenes stuff along with the script, but there was nothing but a note from the author and the script itself. Honestly, it was a disappointment without the behind the scenes stuff it promised. Other than that, it was okay.
This book is an interesting and funny way to look at the world through a kid that had had nothing to worry about he was fine. He was in the 10th grade and was one of the smartest kids in school. He had only been close to one of his relatives and that was his uncle. He made Alex feel special he would give Alex a gift everytime he saw him. But one day his life took a turn for the worst his uncle died. He never really thought anything of his uncle but that he was rich and he never said how he became so wealthy. Alex’s uncle was a lethal assassin and worked for Double O’ seven. Alex’s uncle was one of their best and saw potential in Alex. The next week Alex and all random people came to his uncles funeral. He swear he never saw one of these people before. But Alex felt the tension in the room and he couldn’t tell if it was him or all the random strangers. After that day he felt odd that somebody was watching him and later to find out that a man one of his uncle’s friends he said. He spoke with true compassion and seemed to know more about his uncle than Alex did. He tells Alex everything that he didn’t know but Alex thought to himself why should he trust this man Alex never met him and doesn’t even know him. But the man could tell that Alex was not buying this. So the man said come... come with me and I will show you. Alex hesitated but thought if he could find out who was his uncle really. It always interested Alex to just think of who he could be but what he learned about him he was not prepared for. He didn’t want his loving uncle to be a killer. Alex learns what the Double O’ seven does and tell him that his uncle was maybe the best spy they could ever had. They were never going to tell them that he killed hundreds of people as long as Alex thought he was still a good man he would join and be a Double O’ seven agent. And so Alex decides to join. Alex will get a code name and it will be cub he is at least 6-10 younger to anybody in the agency Wolf was the leader of his group he didn’t like Alex. Alex was small and much more easy to intimidate. Wolf would talk trash to Alex all the time call him Double O’ Nothing Alex didn’t know what to do or say he could do anything about it, Wolf was at least two times his size and that doesn’t even mention the others Snake, Bird, and Rino. Alex learns that the guys don’t mind him. But Wolf does he just hates Alex and Bird tries to stand up to Wolf but Bird will know what could happen. If you talk up to the leader he could take you off the team right then. They say you have to trust each other and respect each other that is only the way to survive in combat. Alex goes to train for several hours per day he loses count of how many time he has been knocked down by Wolf and the other members he has no even come close to winning an event to let the group know you are prepared to go to combat. Alex goes in one day to train but he felt like this time was going to be different he goes up to snake in a 1v1 match of wrestling and paintball he comes out ahead and take snake down. The team is surprised and Wolf knocks down Snake when he walks by. The next week they get an assignment to kill a group of member of a gang killed multiple of people. Alex is told to stay back and not to engage unless necessary they do not want to scare him to young of killing a man it can change a kid at his age. Alex watching Wolf go in head first dodging everything they have he is taking on everybody while snake puts supporting sniper fire. Rino bulldozes everything in his way and Bird to hack Cameras and to distract people from the shots fired. Alex was there to see how it was but when Alex saw that something went wrong when Wolf got hit in the head with a club. Right away Alex storms in and starts fighting off the gang members. Wolf wake up and see Alex fighting and Wolf sees that Alex saved his life. Alex later that year completes enough missions to become a member of the Double O’ seven agency and to Wolf he is part of the Wolf pack. Alex is on his way down a dark and dangerous path that he will not have a normal family or kids. He is becoming a weapon for Double O’ seven a lethal assassin. He always wanted to be like his uncle and wanted to be rich like him but he will soon feel how lonely it truly is to go down this path.
Really great book about a teenager discovering the purpose of what all the strange things his Uncle had him do as a child. Although slightly unrealistic considering that a 14 year old uses a yo-yo to get onto a flying plane, then jumping off the plane and crashing through a ceiling to stop a criminal mastermind. I still found it enjoyable to read and I think it really appeals to all ages, especially young teenagers. From shark fights to a thug with no tongue to playing billiards, this is a versatile book worth picking up.

It was an ok book. It’s about this guy trying to stop this other guy selling computers that will “weird accent” take over the world!!!! >_<. Definitely better than the movie but the movie wasn’t that good. There were parts with a lot of suspense, but then there were parts that were really… really… really… really… boring.
I didn't really like it compared to CHERUB. First of all, it was kind of slow-paced at the beginning. Content wise was okay, except for the fact that Alex revealed the truth about himself (being a spy for M15 and the nephew of his uncle). What kind of spy does that?!!
