Laughed and cried

Heartwarming funny sad thought provoking shocking gripping. Just a few words to describe the words from a brave man who was able to re live his life as a child and eventually was shown how to be a child. Excellent read x

Such an inspiring story of someone who has been to hell and back. It just goes to show that despite all odds, people can turn their life around. Not going to lie, it's a particularly sad book throughout but I was rooting for Sean and so happy he escaped that part of his life.

A completely traumatic read - I know some one who went to the school in this story and i felt I should read it. Like I owed it to him.

i don't think I can recommend this book - it was SO awful to read about how things were in some parts of Ireland at that time, but if you're interested in it, this book will very clearly explain in great detail.

Although the content was terrible, it was easy to read and helped me understand a bit more.

He's a brave man to relive all this detail. I just fell so sad that this is REALLY someone's experience. And it's written in such a way that you feel involved.

omg, i couldnt even finish this. books about abuse are such a tough read! i couldnt finish it as i would have been ever so slightly depressed and didnt really feel like being depressed, it was actually mind blowing what they did to that poor boy!

this book is a good book but to see how much one person has been through is so sad. I enjoy this type of book, however you should be aware that it is an eye opener and be prepared for some tears on the way.
