I picked this first volume up and other Tokyopop titles a lot back in middle school, and they’ve always just stayed in my memory. Park’s series centers on three magical sisters (tomboy Japheth, gorgeous Hamu and sweet-but-loopy Shem) who are tasked with saving endangered animals in our world while trying to live as regular people, but that’s easier said then done. It’s simply fun and entertaining while putting a twist on “Noah’s Ark” and blending it with the magical girl vibe. The best part is Park’s beautifully detailed art that makes it all thrilling and hilarious. B+ (83%/Very Good)

2.5 i guess?
Pretty lame and all over the place but the cliches do work at times so it's also entertaining 😅 And the overall idea, while really in your face, is quite cool and original.

I felt like this book was little all over the place sometimes. I think it touched some important subjects, but in some parts it was not explained fully and you felt little out off place. Animal lovers dream manga.

Wann soll man lernen, wann arbeiten.

- імена головних героїнь - Сим, Хаму і Яфет - майже повністю збігаються з іменами сина Ноя;
- сестри збирають види, яким загрожує вимирання, у ковчег;

This, to me, has such an interesting premise. It isn't as if the whole "rescue endangered species to save the world" hasn't been done before, but I think this one is pretty unique. All the planets are represented by human forms, and of course, Earth's is sickly because of all the damage humans have done to the planet. The three main characters are actually Noah's children (as in, Noah and the ark. That Noah) and they've been given the mission to rescue endangered species. Who they see in human form, and can easily then communicate with them.

Minus some outdated language (the R slur was used multiple times) this book was ahead of its time for speaking about the importance of preserving endangered species and about saving the planet. I don’t remember much so I’m excited to see how the next two volumes go.

Starts out a first a little slow but the pace picks up. The main characters are children of Noah from an other Earth (not sons), their mission is to fill the ark (Whale) with enough endangered animals or Earth with personally get rid of Humans for messing up the Earth. If anything happens to the Earth it could cause a chain reaction and destroy the other Earths. Their are two groups, our main characters who believes in giving Humans a second chance and the second group who wants to stop the first.

Sometimes the animals will be turn to almost Humans for a little while, for our main group sees the animals that way. Which seem a liitle strange at times. Japheth has the ability to stop time once a day for five minutes, which helps gets them out of trouble. The main group also got tiny animal companions with them that connect to the ark and going home.

At the end of the book is some drawings of the characters.

From School Library Journal
Grade 6 Up This fresh and original story follows Shem, Hamu, and Japheth, who must save the Earth from destruction. The author does an excellent job of giving depth to the three sisters; they have the same emotions and lives as normal girls in spite of their superhuman powers. In this way, the story is about how they juggle being teenagers and being superheroes; they want to do what they must, but they also want to experience love and hang out with friends. The illustrations are exciting, and fit well with the pace of the text; the way the illustrator portrays the souls of the animals is unique and moving.

I was irresistibly reminded of Charlie's Angels as I read this manga - 3 cute chicks fighting their way to save critters from the bad guys? Come on. Even their poses were Charlie's Angels-esque.

I really liked the story, though, and the art was very nice. I especially liked the additional sketches thrown in by the author at the end. Definitely a recommended read.

I've had this little series on my to-read list for a long time - after I finished reading Tarot Cafe, I wanted to read this series. I really do love Sang-Sun Park's artwork! When she's drawing seriously (I don't mean to say that she doesn't take her work seriously, I just mean when her characters don't look silly and overly dramatic, like all anime and manga characters do at times), her artwork is truly breathtaking! She is very talented!

I really like the storyline too! As someone who tends to love and care about animals and the planet more than other human beings, I totally dig this storyline. I wish that I could have a job like Shem, Hamu, and Japheth! I'd love it!

I'm really looking forward to reading the other two volumes!

The drawings were absolutely breathtaking--immense detail and beauty. However, it was REALLY hard for me to understand who was a guy and who wasn't. I even think one of the girls is a guy somehow, according to the story. I hope when I read the next books it will become clearer...and I FINALLY got their names and the ark part of the title, very clever

I picked this up from a library without even reading what it was about~ and was I pleasantly surprised!! I don't know what could be cuter than turning animals into characters who resemble them *o*. The art is beautiful~ the characters are perfect, the fashion design limitless~ it has all the qualities of vestal success! This manga is a dream from childhood...

Not a big manga reader in the slightest but decided to pick a few up at the library. Chose Ark Angels because i liked the cover art (and it was one of the few first volumes they had there, most books were missing the first one) I liked the art but the story was just OK and random. A lot of things were not explained and left me confused.

This was a cute little book but definitely not something I would pursue. I think my students will like the silliness, though.
