George's workaholic parents both have to go away over half term, so they take George to stay with great aunt Primrose at the seaside. George has fond memories of Primrose from when she came to stay when he was four, but now Primrose seems oddly different from how he remembered her. there's her strangely hypnotic eyes for instance, and her passion for crab sticks. And the strange things she keeps in the cellar. george needs to find out what is going on. This is a very amusing fantasy, I read it to my sons many years ago and they loved it, it's one of those stories that can be enjoyed by children and adults.

I read this many years ago as a child, but found that even now it managed to keep my interest up the whole way through. A good level of creepy - enough to give me even now a sense of unease but not horrifying (also didn't harm that it had a happy ending). A very quick & different kind of read for me.

I used to love this book. Short enough to reread regularly and not a very normal/samey plot like a lot of kids books. I always enjoyed the ending especially.

The main character George finds himself staying with his Aunt Primrose during his school holidays. Little does he know but lots of action and adventure await him at Two Sisters Cove.

Good book but it is a very easy plot to see and there was one supiese and then that was it but you could almost tell that it was going to happen
