The first reason I love this book is because the copy I have of it has a different texture for the cookies. Kids love touching books that have different textures. The book is almost like a mystery to try to figure out who ate the last cookie. Finally they found out that it was daddy! Sharing is always a great lesson for children. The animations were great. I say the book is probobally aimed for preschool ages.
Extension: Do a cooking project and have the children help you bake cookies. Then have them decorate it. After this they must swap with someone else.
I really enjoyed this version of "Who Stole the Cookie From the Cookie Jar?" I know the children would really love the "cookies" that are on each page. They are tangible and the children are able to really count them and see one more cookie missing each time. There was also some rhyming involved throughout the story as well. I thought it was a great book overall!!
Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar? Nadia stole the cookie from the cookie jar! Who me? Yes you! Couldn't be! Then who? I remember this song from my childhood. Me and my sisters used to sing this all the time.
