Kabbalah for Beginners

Rate this book
The Kabbalist Rabbi Laitman, who was the student and personal assistant to Rabbi Baruch Ashlag from 1979-1991, follows in the footsteps of his rabbi in passing on the wisdom of Kabbalah to the world. This book is based on sources that were passed down by Rabbi Baruchs father, Rabbi Yehuda Ashlag, the author of the commentaries on The Book of Zohar, who continued the ways of many great Kabbalists throughout the generations before them. The goal of this book is to assist individuals in confronting the first stages of the spiritual realm. This unique method of study, which encourages sharing this wisdom with others, not only helps overcome the trials and tribulations of everyday life, but initiates a process in which individuals extend themselves beyond the standard limitations of todays world.

Good introduction

A decent summary written by an erudite rabbi who keeps the content clear and understandable for the general reader. It is a rather quick read.

I read this as a foundation to Hermetic Qabalah, I though it would be best to start with the Jewish original before modern interpretations.

No doubts it could take a lifetime to study Kabbalah, but this book is a great introduction as to what Kabbalah is all about, written for ease of reading. It's a great introduction for anyone seeking answers to life's questions - Why am I here? Why do people behave the way they do? What is my place in the universe? There are boundaries of which science cannot penetrate - science cannot measure the workings of the human soul.

Mira que soy judía y que es un libro finísimo pero su puta madre que largo se me ha hecho.
Sinceramente no creo estar hecha para la cabala. Me interesa mucho pero no siento que esté libro me haya ayudado

I am grateful that this was not the first Kabbalah book I ever picked up, because it may have turned me off from this pursuit. At least it wasn't very long.

It helps if one rereads these kind of books after intervals of some 40 years or so.

Al principio es un poco lento y repetitivo, pero al final (si eres neófito en el tema) descubres que fue acertada la dosificación de la información.

Very brief.
I suppose it could've had more detail. Repetitious.

If you are serious about understanding the purpose of life and how we were created, I recommend this book. It takes you through a journey into your inner self- your desire. At first, it may be challenging to understand but if you invest time reading and reflecting, it will begin to make sense for you.
