Combs paints a very vivid picture of the twenty first century. Terrorism no doubt is one of the main problems the internationAl community faces. The author is very keen on blaming the Muslims all over the world and painting them as the villains. Although the statement is true in many cases but there is no black and white when whole nations are to be discussed. A group of terrorist or a group of some governments could be put to blame but a nation also includes the innocent citizens.
Combs very successfully briefly explains and also correlates current situation with examples from history. It is a must read for international relations students or enthusiasts.

The book examines contemporary terrorism, attempts to explain what terrorism is, who carries it out, how terrorist acts are committed, it analyzes the laws and special forces which nations within the international community have created to counter terrorism, and tries to predict future patterns of terrorism. A text book written for undergraduate-level courses.

This book should be utilized as a very basic introduction for students of Anti-terrorism (the use of defensive strategies and tactics, deterrence and policy).

This is a textbook and written as such. The book was published in 2006 and with such a changing, dynamic topic some of the material is somewhat dated. The information presented on historical terrorism and how it impacts us today is very interesting.

2017 and they have already mapped the terrorism in the 21st century. I hope they limited themselves to the Solar System, and say nothing about the Vogon revolution.
