Grateful Undead #2

Grave Sight'

Rate this book
Susan's budding romance is taking a back seat in book 2 of THE GRATEFUL UNDEAD series, and her sexy immortal lover, Marcus, is having none of it.

In book one, THEY'RE SO VEIN, the women in the Stech family went from dentures to fangs, Depends to thongs, Dr. Scholl's® to stilettos, and bumbled their way into an undead lifetime of Critter Control when one of them inadvertently turned a raccoon into a vampoon.

GATOR BAITIN' (book 2) begins as the team is dispatched to destroy a vamp-gator wreaking havoc at Gatorland in Orlando, only to get sidetracked by a serial killer investigation, a vamp-bull at a rodeo in Kissimmee, and a colorful demon named Rafael. Between bronco busting, dragon riding, Jesus-freak chasing, gator hunting, demon summoning and dead bodies popping up everywhere, Susan's finding it hard to fit in a little romp time.

NEW YORK TIMES Bestselling Author Susan Stec loves her Cavalier Buddy, that first sip of AM coffee, the sound her keyboard makes when she's on a roll, 70's rock, chocolate (lots of chocolate), iced mocha, and getting lost in worlds where myth and legend are reality. Her characters are always humorous, usually crazy, and, well, snarky. Oh, and they swear a lot. But don't hold that against them. They mean well...most of the time.

I truly enjoyed this book..it was quite fun to read and very easy to picture the chaotic household of all those undead all trying to do what they are supposed to be doing..a dysfunctional family to say the least..but one that sticks together! Loved Christopher and his antics as a man in a child's body and how appalled people were by those antics...sheer genius!! I will definitely look for more of these books. Thank you Good Reads!! Love reading all kinds of books and though this isn't my normal genre (if I have one) it was time well spent!!
I received this book from Goodreads.com.

GATOR BAITIN’
Susan’s characters are at it again and this time they’re dealing with vampire gators, evil ex-lovers, and smarmy demons. It’s funny, sexy, and full of mad-cap adventure. If you enjoy vivid, fully-developed characters, irreverent humor, and vampire action, you’ll enjoy this series.

3.5 stars. I blew through all three books in 4 days. The hilarious setup of a child vampire turning an older woman (late 50s) who in turn ends up with a whole matriarchal household of hot 20s-looking vamps who still act like their original ages (from 30s to 83!!)
It’s not really a new setup- other vampire novel universes include the whole “reverting to the best your dna can be and at optimal age” and a whole hidden society, including a ruling organization, of vampires. But, it’s funnily written and has many details that enhance the whole tale. And it’s not just vamps, we have fairies and werewolves and weredragons and zombies and demons. I loved that one of the Stech women refused to be turned....it always annoys me that vamp novel writers cannot often wrap their heads around someone consciously *not* choosing immortality, eternal youth, etc. (it’s often used as a trope on someone already turned, but it was refreshing to see it as a choice).

All three books were a fun read that weren’t too heavy and well done. I look forward to reading the fourth installment.

This is the second book in the Grateful Undead, and it follows on from They're So Vein nicely. Susan and her family continue their feuding, and critter hunting antics. But now there is something rising from Dorius's past that brings a tangible threat to their activities, and maybe even their Undead futures.
The story is a little slower paced in some places, than the previous book, but it builds to a great showdown with a few shocks along the way.

Hilarious sequel! I love Susan and Marcus's romance! They bring the steam and then of course there is Christopher with his horny little self. Poor little guy :) If you loved the first in the Grateful Undead series, you will love this one!

Pure genius

I truly loved the first book, but this book continues to be funny and witty. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this series. I love the characters, nana is a hoot!! The next book seems to hold a surprise.

I'm almost ashamed of how funny I find these books. Pretty much how I imagine my mother would turn out as a vampire.
