A very helpful and practical book that teaches health practitioners and clinical health psychologists how to help their patient consider making necessary changes in their daily lives and lifestyles so as to prevent adverse health consequences as well as maintain good health. This patient-centered approach was developed prominent professionals with year of long years of expertise. Its most important message is that “People change when it is important to them to do so and they feel confident about being able to achieve it”. What is also very beneficial is the explanation of resistance by patients, and how to overcome resistance, and how to raise awareness of importance and build confidence to change, with focus on the importance of using appropriate communication and respect of patients’ decision, even if they decided not to make any changes.
