I liked this book but I wasn’t in love. I found the chemistry between Brock and Georgiana lacking and that paired with a ton of Druid information and lore – seemingly out of nowhere- muddled the romance further. A lot of time was spent on Georgiana’s training and the read is just left to believe that she’s easily willing to love and trust Brock just because he refuses to leave her to be mated to another man. I liked Brock as a character however. The high society lord who scuffles with would be assassins for his wife and is outcasted and set aside by her family. Georgiana herself wasn’t horrible as character either, in fact, I quite enjoyed her stead fasted belief in herself and her love for her husband despite their problems. There was just something that didn’t click with me and I think it’s the division between plotline and romance- I could have done with a more in depth dive into the tension and pain between these two characters.
