A Texas billionaire was her baby's best protection...And the greatest threat to her future Houston Sadler was one of the richest men in Texas, but money wouldn't get attorney Gabrielle Markham out of his life. When she showed up at his ranch, he expected her to serve him with a court order - not a newborn baby boy. After escaping from a deadly hostage situation, Gabrielle sought the one man who was guaranteed to protect her son - and had the legal right to take him away. Though their past encounters had sparked passion for all the wrong reasons, the billionaire cattleman now had new responsibilities to his miracle baby, and Gabrielle was far more maternal. As they fought to keep their newfound family intact, their trust and reliance on one another was perhaps the most unexpected result of all.

I enjoyed the suspense and the buildup to the heat in this story. I instantly connected with the characters. I liked that this was an enemies to lovers story.
I checked this book out of the library and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.
try finding out that the donated embero was not the one you should have gotten and the one you did get was from the man you hated and his dead wife. now your being followed and attacked and the only person who can help you is the man who is your childs father even tho he did not know about this child now fall in love with him and try to keep yourself safe
This was a pretty good book. I liked the characters and the high emotions. The suspense was page-turning and it felt like I was holding my breath thru the last few chapters. I didn't see it coming at all. How could he? I would read this again. This is good for a consuming shorter read and a rainy day. The emotions of trust, doubt, and preservation were in full force and makes you truly appreciate your children. It also shows the lengths some will go in bad situations. Not pretty. Overall a good suspenseful engaging read. Enjoy
I'm re-reading this series as part of my goal to review all my old reads, though I hadn't read every book in the series. This felt like a watered down version of the first book. I wasn't a fan of the plot. There were so many close calls that it became a bit ridiculous that they kept getting away. I also feel that there was a lack of explanation about why Gabrielle's brother was evil, like she literally raised him? The plot was just a lot and totally unrealistic. I didn't care either way about the romance between Houston and Gabrielle either. So not a fan.
The book was okay. Got a little tired of the sheenanigans after a bit and if the story was real I would have turned off my cell phone by now to get away from these seemingly unending calls which only introduced more drama into the situation.
I have read a lot of Delores Fossen's books and although there are a few typos I n this book they certainly didn't take away from the storyline. to was enough that I read it in one day.
I liked it. I didn't understand how they could fall in love in a matter of days and then agree to marry each other, but it's a Harlequin, so it's to be expected. I wish there was more of an epilogue including Lucas and the new family's lives post-threatening brother issue. It would've been cute.
