By the end of flipping through this book, page by page, I separated the sticky pages and broke the spine! The first 26 pages are very important to understand the book and what Coco and Steven wanted to accomplish. It's very creative and fun to look at the human figure through their eyes. I used to be a model once upon a time, and modeling isn't as easy as people think; you need patience, cool mood, always be a light team member, help the makeup artist and photographers achieve the best image of the project at hands. It's hectic, fun and and time consuming.

The only thing I wish the book actually had on those white blank pages was a description and the images and poses that inspired the pose, from posters, ads to paintings and celebrities. I just wanted to see the actual pose with the current one, or the group of muses used in one capture. Of course I recognized some, but not all.

Honestly the shots are great, but for what it is, more selecting should have been done prior to publishing.

As a study of pose, it's fantastic, in terms of photography, perhaps so-so.

The book "Study of Pose" is nothing less than amazing, it’s not a book that everyone can appreciate, but it’s a book worth having as a reference if you are an artist, model, dancer, and photographer. However with that said, these are not your average ordinary modeling poses. I would actually say these poses are not for the faint of heart, and honestly I don’t see a fashion model and fashion photographer collaborating to re-create 90% of these poses. But then again I am neither a fashion model, nor a fashion photographer…so I could be wrong.

But what I do see...is this book sparking those creative juices when it comes to artistic expression. This book is an excellent resource for those of us who are more in touch with our creative and artistic side. But with that said, with every blessing there is a curse, images of this book disintegrating right in front of my very eyes danced in my head.
The poor production quality of this book at times overshadows the excellences and the creativity of this book. In addition, if it wasn’t for the weight of the book and the extremely thin pages I think this book would have made an excellent conversation starter as a coffee table book.

So in conclusion, In regards to content of this book, hands down it deserves 4 out of 5 stars. In regards to production quality, I give it 0 out of 5 stars. I think the packaging of this book was cute and very stylish. However, the poor construction and having to deal with hundreds on top of hundreds of thin pages stuck together and having to peel them apart reduced a 4 star book… to a 3 star book.
Whether or not the poses are useful is a matter of personal taste...so take a look at a few of the poses on my blog post and you be the judge.

Do I recommend this book? Well...even with the poor production quality...Yes. Like I said I think this book can serve as an excellent resource. As for the rating...this is the first book that I have ever encountered that I was actually torn about its rating.

With that said...I give this book 4 out of 5 stars based on the content of the book.
