I absolutely love this series, I’ve read it multiple times and each time brings another layer to the story. However, I am firmly team Jason which brings me to the most valuable point about the retelling of the story, each series re-read I’ve always found book 4 the most uncomfortable to read, and David’s abusive and bullying behaviour, heavily contributes to that.
BUT this time the story goes deeper. I thoroughly enjoyed understanding David’s mindset and the hints to his battle to align his actions to his emotions and whilst my opinion hasn’t changed overall the additional layer to the character has made me empathise with him in this version than the books before.
I cannot wait for the next book thank you Angela, for another fantastic read xxx
Since I started this series I have been reading these books every spare moment I can and this one was no different. I am so invested in these characters and the journey they are on. This series is one that is going to stay with me long after I finish reading it. In this installment a lot is revealed. If you’ve made it this far in the series you know what kind of heartbreak you could be in for. All I can say is you better buckle up and keep the tissues handy because it is emotionally devastating at times. I look forward to reading the next installment!
I’ve been a fan since the first editions were released and love them all. The new insights have made me start to strongly dislike a certain someone even when originally I (like Ara) always looked past his flaws haha. I can’t wait for book 5!
I don't like the introduction of Jase! I think there is enough with David and Ara to work through we don't need a third wheel. I think Aca forgave to quickly cause Emily would have no peace. This was a slow read I had to skip around to finish it.
This series was fantastic before. I fell in love with the characters. Now, the author has rewritten them and they are even better. And a must read. If you like fantasy, you will love this.
