Tami Myer spent most of her childhood growing up in Haiti, where her parents served as missionaries. She then attended college in Florida, earning a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in literature. Tami and her husband have been married for 33 years, and they have three children. In addition to serving as wife and mother, Tami enjoys leading marriage classes, teaching Bible studies, speaking at women’s events, and blogging at http://www.MarriageForManna.com.
Awesome! Enlightening! What a way to open a wifes eyes. God has continued to bless and grow Tami's ministries by teaching biblical principles to wives.
I can’t recommend this book highly enough for wives. Tami’s approach is so practical and Scriptural, and I’ll be rereading this one many times. In some ways, it reminds me of Elisabeth Elliot’s Let Me Be a Woman, for its godly wisdom for married women.
In the first two chapters, she breaks down the difference between God’s design for women and His design for men. They are both very good; they’re just different! Then, she uses a series of easy-to-understand analogies to provide a biblical view of marriage.
One of my favorite takeaways is her point that “our marriages are our places of ministry.” She goes a step farther to say they are our “priority places of ministry.” So often times, we women feel pressured to serve in so many church ministries. Maybe those places are good opportunities, and if God calls us to them, that’s fine. But first and foremost, our ministry is to our husband. I love that idea so much! I don’t have to feel “guilty” when someone asks why I’m not over-involved with church ministries, because my highest calling right now is to be a godly wife.
This whole book is packed with truth that wives need to hear. If you’re a wife, read it. If you want to be a wife someday, read it. You’ll be blessed and challenged.
Tami has and uses her poetic, practical, and humble gift of truth to teach vividly in this work. It HONESTLY was a delight to read, learn, capture, and instantly apply the truths and principles taught within. A book that can be read a 2nd, and even 3rd time for constant, delightful and refreshing reminders.
