This book is written by the mother of a young man with autism. In short chapters, Emily Colson shares snippets of her life raising Max and advocating for him. At times some subtlety in the storytelling left me a little confused, but generally it is easy to read. I found it encouraging and uplifting to read how God sustained and enabled the author to communicate with her son and embrace the life that turned out differently than she had expected.

As a parent of a son diagnosed with ASD, this book was educational, enlightening, entertaining but most of all emotional. I am grateful for Emily deciding to write her and Max's story because there are so many parallels between what she experienced with Max and what my wife and I experience with our son.

If you have a friend or loved one diagnosed with ASD, there will be great value for you in reading this book.

This book sheds light on raising a child with autism and although difficult, is a blessing. I love that the author used scripture. Prepare to be inspired!
