Sorry, this book was not my type. An utter disappoinment. Have seen and read good reviews about this one. But in reality - It sucks- BIG TIME.
Firstly the writing style was horrible. The title and the story had no match AT ALL!!!! The story was a bit cliche and there were some philosophical dialogues about love. But sorry dude, it doesnt make a good book.
Come on!!! which youngster talks like that! The change of POVs were disturbing as there were no connection at all!!! And guys- there are no similarities between the real story and the plot written in the back.
I would give it no stars at all. But giving it 1 jst bcz of some lines that hit me and hit me hard.
This is an extremity fabulous story ....when i hd started this book i never expected dis end...means defiantly its not perfect ending but it must be lft so many unsaid things & impact on our mind...wch u cn never explain to nyone ..after complete dis book for 20 min i just keep thinking wht i do ll next ??? But Sudeep our best wishes for n keep writing dis kinda books for bookaholics :)
I have to say the same thing to the book "Sorry You're Not My Type". I chose this book because of the rating and reviews of the book. I was disappointed. Honestly, I think this book is highly overrated.
This is a story about friendship, love, dreams, desire and the harsh reality of life. A story of a college band named VAYU and it's member Vikrant, the drummer who believes in perfection, well built, six feet tall and a one-woman man. Anamika, a dancer of the band, free spirit, gorgeous and always stand for right. Yuvi, the guitarist, and vocalist, athletic body, belong to a rich family and extremely fond of bikes.
Every friendship needs bonding to last forever. Three of them have different personalities but their passion for music brought them close to each other. But sometimes too much closeness creates trouble; having mixed feelings about your friend put Anamika in a very horrible phase of her life while Yuvi indulge in drugs ruins her relationship with his girlfriend Kashish as well as his whole life, where Vikrant deeply falling in love with Sanya would never be able to celebrate the day their relationship had kicked off.
This book tells us that to love somebody isn't just a strong feeling; it's a decision, a judgment, and a promise. There are so many people who had broken this promise but there are few who stood like a strong pillar and support their beloved ones in every situation.
This is a true story that will define again fondness, passion, and friendship but the title had no connection with the story. At some point, I like this book because it took me into the depth of love and friendship prevailing these days in our society. But few parts were cliche and feels like you read a typical Bollywood movie script. If you are free and you have nothing to read then go for this book; maybe at some point you will relate to any of these characters but if you want to read something worthy than this book is definitely not for you.
A pretty good read. It can be our to-kill-time companion. Very ordinary story-line. Music band VAYU strives hard to establish themselves, while love & friendship crosses their path. The way Vikrant narrates the story is fabulous. And he is the V of VAYU. Anamika, the A of VAYU, is the strongest character I've ever come across. Anamika breaks-up with her boyfriend Anurag and the band comes to a close. With that the Y of VAYU is shattered and he starts to treat Anamika with a difference. Adithya, a stranger, startled by the immense sadness in Vikrant's song, asks their story. And Vikrant narrates it. I adore Anamika. I was shocked with the ending though. Sometimes we believe the people whom we should avoid and there starts the trouble for our life.
But the flow wasn't continuous and it did leaves you yawning at places. The philosophical quotes from the internet had helped Sudeep Nagarkar highly.
3.5 Stars Expectations was high from sudeep nagarkar after super success of 'It started with a friend request' but this one is doesn't seems to that level though both have same part of love, friendship and little bit suspense. But this one doesn't hold you up to end. Starting with band and all that series of events date by date and place by place you feels this would be the great emotional and musical ride but writer fails to impress reader throughout the novel. Must say 1st Half and last part of novel is awesome but story slows down a bit in the middle. Though this is a story of a band but do not expect much from story (of musical band). It's a story of members of the band. Overall it's a good 200 pages novel that you can try if you want pass time with good story :)
The famous authors in India make their own genre and keeps on writing about it all their career. This gives them a basic reader base that remains loyal as that's the only genre they read. Its very hard for a new author to make his way into one of these genres that already has a King ruling the Jungle. Kudos to Sudeep Nagarkar that he made his place in the Romance section even when Chetan Bhagat and likes of Ravinder Singh were ruling it. Today, Sudeep N is the most read and sold novelist from Random House Publication, the 2nd biggest Publisher in India. Chetan Bhagat's last novel came almost 3 years back. Sudeep Nagarkar utilized this period in making his own benchmark by publishing each of his novel at the gap of 8 months. Today, his readers wait for his next novel desperately. Interestingly, he is improving with every book of his. He is already 4 novels old.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:-
His all books are inspired from real life incidents and continue to top the bestseller charts. He was listed in ‘Celebrity Author of 2013’ by one of the biggest online portal Amazon. He was also awarded with ‘Youth Achievers award’ in 2013.
There are some average authors with whom I have a wonderful connect that I end up reading every book released by them and keep giving 3 or 3.5 out of 5 in my ratings. Confessedly, Sudeep Nagarkar, though a Bestseller since his first book, was considered an average writer to me, but not any more after reading his latest flick "Sorry You're Not my Type". I am finally proud of him the way he has scaled up with this book. What a performance! Incredible! It seemed as if I was reading one of those writers who build a story around characters and make their book look everyone's story and not of just one protagonist. This is what Sudeep unlocked with this one. Now, I would say it will become a pressure for himself to keep the expectations fulfilled of his readers in future.
When I started reading this book, I thought it would be same stuff of 3 friends in a rock band struggling to make their mark and splitting come later on and again collaborating together in the end and rocking the stage. But suddenly the book changes into something as divine as a love story, character of each person, association of everyone with each other, decisions, mistakes, correction, motivation and survival. Each and every word written to describe each and every scene is out of the box. I often accuse writers of downgrading themselves by highlighting few of their paragraphs and disappointing by not writing it as effective as needed. But every italic paragraph in this book leaves a mark in your brain. It clearly tells you how controlled you should be when you get emotional and possessive about someone.
Book covers just 2 years of life of these 3 friends and covers so much of philosophy and content in it that it feels you have read a book about how to value people through out your life. How a small trip changes every thing for these 3 friends and other 2 included is an astonishing experience. In the anti-climax and climax, with each sentence, Sudeep Nagarkar kept on raising his bar of standard and as I ended reading the last sentence, I wanted to call him and ask to write another book for me within an hour and send me as I wanted more of him. Even the way he described intimate moments between his characters is ravishing. A rape scene that is described as a theme at one moment is also explained as it contains whole life of a girl and unbelievably, that's the only piece I have read till date written to make me stand up and clap for the author's imagination, purity and excellence.
His first book got 3 from me, second got 2.5, third got 3.5 and now, his 4th book gets 4.5/5. YES! You hear it right. But Sudeep, be aware from now. I have high expectations from you in future.
Unlike the ordinary romance tales, this book is composed with multiple themes like friendship, passion, betrayal, love and suspense. When you get a lust for anything, when you think nothing above your passion things get stressed to the extent that a part of its consequences remains unnoticed. When you read this book you will experience it with each moving chapter. Needless to say, Sudeep Nagarkar has done the best job writing it in a reader friendly language, understanding exactly what they want. There is nothing you will get which is repeated and dragged, instead you will witness a fresh and interesting story here. When it is a story which talks about a band, how can we forget about some musical songs. The shayaris and lyrics added in between add the extra zing to the story bringing out the exact emotions.
The best of the scenes are when VAYU meets during the audition, when Vikrant meets the stranger girl in Metro, Anurag’s proposal to Anamika, the Daman events and the day when VAYU breaks apart – everything is presented well. The accurate references of time, place and events – like the college campus, the Delhi Metro and exotic Daman climate – all create a better impact. What to say in brief, it is definitely not an ordinary story, but an uncommon tale of a college life where you learn the teachings of journey ahead. What message Sudeep wants to give is – Don’t turn back. Learn to say “Sorry you’re not my type” and move on.
It's a story which is about three friends and how they get close to each other and how all of it ends up towards the end. The story which will teach a person a lot of things.
It is full of emotions and life and the parts where most of the words like friendship, love etc. are put to test have been done brilliantly. It completely redefines a lot of things in a relationship and friendship and your way of looking towards everything in life.
It's a great story to devour and savor and live with as emotions run high and you feel a part of the book for a long time.
There's no dull moment in the book and the book connects with the readers with it's captivating story line. It'll pull you towards it and then leave you dazed for quite sometime.
Received this book from Sudeep courtesy of Goodreads Giveaway program.
I am giving this book 4 stars out of 5 for the book is a superb read. It takes you into the depths of relationships, of friendships across sexes. It tells us the story of the band, Vayu and its members : Vikrant, Anamika and Yuvi. Its about how the band changes their life forever. I mean, completely changes their life. Go grab a copy of this book, I won't be adding any spoilers here. All I can tell you that its not very simple to understand casual, day to day friendships and acquaintanceship. Certainly, what we may think of as routine can have profound affect on our lives. This is the first book by Sudeep Nagarkar which I have read, and he definitely bowled me over with this one.
Before I began how I felt about this book, let me honestly say one thing, this is Sudeep’s fourth Novel and by far the best from his pen. In recent times, this is the best book that I have read.
The Story starts with Vikrant narrating his life’s past. He narrates how he met with the other two protagonists; Anamika and Yuvi. As time passed, all three of them became the best of buddies. Their friendship became stronger as they gel up together to form a band; VAYU.. To Read by complete review, click here: http://sany-speaks4.blogspot.com/2014...
The King Of Romance... sudeep nagarkar A true story that will redefine frndship... Its a story that gives a lesson that trusting someone is good but blind faith is not good.. Sometime ur close one hurts u the most.. This story Meaningful and an inspiring story... I have read all the novels of sudeep nagarkar, and i want to say that ur becoming the king of romance of authors in India....now u r ruling on the hearts of the readers.. keep smiling and keep writting sir...
Frankly, I'm amazed after seeing how many people have rated it so highly which it certainly doesn't deserves. Coming to the book, I'm midway through this and I'm planning to abandon it right away. The narration isn't succinct enough to keep me glued to this. Sorry, but a bit of cliche dialogues and some lines of attempted philosophy doesn't make one good book.
I have read many Indian author's book and what they prefer to write is "Love Story". Well Sudeep's way of writing is quite different from others like Chetan Bhagat, Nikita Singh, Dutta etc. He has given a good flow to the story and kept the interest till end.
To be honest, this was the very first time I read a book by an Indian Author and I actually enjoyed reading this book. Eventhough he plot was quite "dry", the denouement of the story was very thought provoking and eye opening.
Though I had an idea of what this book had in store for me, I bought it as a short and light read to keep me accompanied in my bus journey. Not one aspect of this book had a positive impact on me. The writing style was terribly frustrating for me. Objectifying women comes so easy to this kind of writing. The author could have been more respectful towards the way he was portraying his characters. Coming to the storyline, it goes something like this, in brief. Three friends, and their band named 'VAYU', find popularity among other bands in their college. All of them have a different story to share, and these stories are narrated by one of the three friends to a complete stranger that he meets in a restaurant. Thus unfolds the story of their band, their friendship, their struggles, love and heartbreak. And the stranger seems so involved in every element of the story that he feels he knows the band and the members involved in it personally. The philosophical lines about love and heartbreak, did not connect to me in any way. The least I could feel in good terms was to be irritated. Definitely not the type of book I would prefer. The only good thing about reading this book for me is that I got to add another book to my Goodreads reading list after a long time!
really? can life get totally lopsided by a minute ? is destiny that powerful? the very delightful life which u r finding at this moment may not be urs after a second.... the novel is really a rollercoaster of emotions. the characters which you believe to be good and entertaining turn out to be stupid and disgusting, and the ones u find carefree and worthless seem to be important..... the author is successful in playing with your thoughts gradually, and instantly, at the end of the book, he will dump you into the pit of confusion enclosed with ambiguity of what to believe and how to digest it.....
শেষমেশ বলতেই হচ্ছে, "Sorry, You're not my type."
বি.দ্র: যে সমস্ত হতভাগার রিভিউ পড়ে এই লেখকের বইগুলো কিনেছিলাম... তাদের পাপ হবে.. হবেই।
I loved this book , it was quick contemporary read. Me being a die hard fan of Sudeep Nagarkar , this was again a real life incident story. This book had the element of friendship, love, attraction, willpower and determination , the bonds narrated were so strong. I gave it a 4.7/5 stars though there was nothing that i hated about the book.
Had more to add on to the review but wanted to keep it short, because i appreciate the efforts put by the author, and i would like to keep my Review spoiler free. ( if you want Spoilers ... will post it on request )
I bet this story will be loved by all because it would make you a better and stronger person all together :)

When I read FTLU which was also his debut, I was touched my his story... I wanted to know what happend further (honestly) with the release of T2w2M I got my answers and I felt bad and kinda sympathetic towards the story people said its an ordinary story but at the end of the day it is a true story. Anyways by then I believed in his writing's would always be honest and heart touching and the reason why I grabbed my ISWAFR and it was again a true heatwarming tale with happily ever after wala ending :') ! My expectations had risen from sudeep nagar and with SYNMT he have set his benchmark to par excellence. Synmt is overwhelming story... the plot, the suspense and the truthfulness of the story makes a deeper impact on your mind. You cry, you learn and you want more of sudeep nagarkar!
This is my personal best novel, the novel about the most famous band of rajhans college named 'VAYU'. I like the way the writer tries to show the image of true friendship. I literally got goosebumps when i come to knw at the end that yuvi is the reason behind all the bizzare happen with anamika. He spoiled three lives completely only bcoz of his anger and jealous towards her. He not even torn her clothes but also broke her heart and trust into million peices. Hats off to anamika the way she struggles with all the problems. Anamika's charachter is really strong and kindhearted. 'People do change' thats what i learned from anurag's charachter. Vikrant tries to make things work but it got more worse. I completely enjoyed reading this novel
An amazing journey of 3 band mates cum friends who each found one person in their life who was not worthy of their love. It is a story which makes you wonder sometimes most unexpected things may come from a very closest of close friends in your life. I really enjoyed this story which was really very inspiring because of the character Anamika, so much to learn from her, as well as very heart-broken and emotional. Well being a Sudeep Nagarkar fan, I always likes the way he narrates the story to his readers, it makes you feel like as if every detail is happening right in front of your eyes. A must read for everyone.
Again I finished it so early and this time a lot impressed with Sudeep. For me it's much better than " It started with friend request ". Writer improved a lot in his writing and story telling style. Whole story flows in very smooth manner. And off course it's a nice pack of friendship , love , emotions , fights , dreams , passion etc. The most surprised was the end of story at such a high peak of emotions. 80 % of the story flows in a light mood and some how in dramatic manner but last 20% of story line was not expected at all. When a trust broke it breaks so many things like friendship , love etc. It's a good read.
One of the best from sudeep sir, The band is here changing three persons life in it the way he handled the character's and their emotions and the way he describes bond between the relationship's says he is one of the masters in Indian writing. Loved the book for keeping suspense till last and an social message in it. Anamika's courage an strongest character in this book. Anurag character is an example for true love. Unlike other romantic stories it goes depth of a relationships and gives us an superb story. One of the proof for sudeep is one of the best writer in India.
An awesome and super book..at first it tells about friendship a true friendship, and also about the dreams and aspiration of a group of friends..it redefines love and friendship..vikrant,anamika,yudi the main characters of this story relates to our lives.one should never miss reading such a book..its about a friend who fights with world with darkness..a girl who has lost someone whom she loved a lot..all the aspects covered a awesome..loved this book..one should never miss this <3 <3
It's the perfect heading for my review as well - Sorry you're not my type ! Lol
The characters are too annoying. Scenes come and go and there is no connection at all. Some dialogues were simply horrendous. I have never, in my life, seen any ending as bad as this one. I mean what the hell was that??! and why are these ratings so deceiving?!
wow... how much can a book suck.. probably this is the limit.. For me this is not a seller at all. I didn't connect with the characters or the story. The worst part is the way love is described in authors words and he has the worst story telling talent. And one more thing, being addicted to drugs is not the In thing and not at all cool.
it is one the best book i had ever read.... the story explains that how the relationships is use to be in now a days.... but even in this time period there are some good people who give a lot of importance to relations
