Soon after Kate Fielding arrives at Whitesands, a dark and brooding house on the Cornish cliffs, she finds herself threatened by a secret from the past. Her new love - and her life itself - is in deadly peril when an unknown, unseen force of evil begins filling her days with horror.
So ... that's what a Gothic romance is like. Interesting. Um. Well, I finished it. I wanted to dropkick the three main-most characters on a regular basis, the children were nothing but cardboard cutouts, it's possible that the housekeeper was the most interesting character in the whole book but we end it still knowing almost nothing about her. SO MANY LOOSE ENDS. What on earth ever happened with the cow milking experiment??? Aaarrrg.
