Thirty years later, Josephine Cline and Dr. David Wheeler - a strange blend like Castor Oil and Lavender - clash over how to meet the growing needs of the German immigrants flocking to Cincinnati. I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of 4 books based in Ohio. It was my first introduction to Dianne Christner. I was by drawn by the title of the series Ohio. My son and his family have lived in Cincinnati, Ohio for the past year. The last two books end up there and the first two a couple of hours north. It was interesting to see life in 1800's Ohio. I enjoyed following the lives of the sisters and their families as they all grew older. The last book skips ahead by a decade though. The development of romance and elements of suspense drew me in. The chapters were short which I appreciated over those authors whose chapters go on in length. I am glad to know she has written more books since 2002.
This one took me a while. First of all, Goodreads had a hard time even finding it. I read the real book. The cover caught my eye and it felt perfect for springtime, which is when I began it. It’s a four part, and is perfect for people who enjoy Christian romance and uplifting fiction. It’s very rated G, which I appreciate but it did get a little slow. The final book was my favorite which jumped ahead 30 years. I began reading other books and then finally went back determined to finish. I almost gave it a 4 star. I’d say a 3.5.
