I'm a novelist and music journalist, the author of many books set between the 1730s and 1950s in Leeds, as well as others in medieval Chesterfield and 1980s Seattle.

Above all, though, its Leeds I love, the people, the sense of the place changing with time. Yes, I write mysteries, but ultmiateoly they're books about people and their relationships, and the crime becomes a moral framework for the story.

For a book about one of the most important and genre-pushing musical acts of all time this is probably the mot boring and dull way to write about the cultural phenomenon that was Outkast.

There aren’t any exclusive interviews with the two and the book was written before Idlewild was released so it’s also incapable of speaking on the legacy and impact of Outkast as well as the duo’s solo careers.

Very disappointing for me personally both as an Atlanta rap fan and as a reader.

Repetitive, lots of typos, written a few years too early to be relevant as anything other than a prolonged origin story.
