I loved the twists and brutality in this one. The events that our main character goes through is some disgusting and disturbing stuff.
This trilogy is absolutely incredible, and I need to see more from the Morbid Curiosities shop!

Anyways this book is about a boy who is a troublemaker and that his mother does all that she can to not make him a troublemaker then stumbles across this cemetery camp where they do horror things with cloning involved and child torture, ofcourse, not really that groundbreaking.

The last & final installation of aron's very fucking short trilogy that even if you somehow put all of these three books you would still end up with a very short novel.
*I'm not going to give you the 'what this book is about' blurb - you can read that elsewhere.
1. In this book, we get to Mia’s plotline! But…it’s still not truly hers. We do find out where/how she fits in, though, and I’m glad for that.
2. This was my least favorite of the Morbid Curiosities books, but it was still very good. I think the subject matter just didn’t hit home for me in the way that the other 2 did, and that’s fine! Just because I liked it a bit less than the other two doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it.
3. While there’s a main story being told that has its own main moral lesson, there’s also a deeper ethical consideration at play in this book, and that was fun to stew on for an afternoon.
4. I’m really hoping Aron writes at least a few more installments into his Morbid Curiosities collection, it’s like Goosebumps for adults, and I love that concept so much.
I thought the overall idea to write a series of stories combing the worlds of both Rod Serling and Aron Beauregard would be something that I would thoroughly enjoy.
The first Book, I could tell right away had to be an older story because Aron has grown as a writer in leaps and bounds since then. In terms of atmosphere though, this one was still fairly decent.
Books two and three could have been so much more than what they are if Aron had just spent more time fleshing the stories out.
If The Illusion if Choice was Novel length, it would have simply been another 5 star Book.
Cemetery Camp hit a personal note with me as well because I also lived that life for a good chunk of my teens and early 20s. I should be dead several times over by now. I also loved how Aron actually tagged a happy ending onto one of his stories. The only problem here was that in order to hit the right emotional notes, the story had to be a lot deeper and a lot longer.
I'm definitely interested in reading more from this Series, but it would satisfy me a lot more if they were 2 - 2.5 times longer than what they are. If I can think of ways to improve upon these two stories, then I would be very curious to see what Aron could come up with himself.
Man, this series is excellent. I really enjoyed the entirety of it. Book 3 really cranks it up. It keeps the spirit of the series, and hits on some themes Beauregard has explored in previous books. Fans of playground are definitely going to love this one. This was my personal favorite of the first 3 entries.
Goddamn dude ! Not a bad story in the bunch !! Absolutely no negative. I can't even choose my favorite one. I don't even like fantasy. I need more Morbid Curiosities. More gore, and more Aron Beauregard
In this story we follow Kyle, without his dad and his mom doing her absolute best, he goes down a bad road. From selling drugs to just verbally abusing his mom he’s being a little shit. When his mom is fed up she finds a camp that said they could help Kyle and set him straight. Not knowing much other than that “ they wouldn’t physically harm him” she drops him off, little did Kyle know he wishes this was some scared straight camp.
This was probably my favorite in the morbid curiosity’s series. The characters were super interesting and had cool backstories. The drawings were gorgeous as always. I really wanna see more from this series.
I didn’t know anything about these stepping into them - other than Aron B being behind these stories, and that was more than enough for me.
These stories had a cool release strategy, with each novella being released every two weeks. But my binge-child inside was not happy about it, because as soon as I finished one, I wanted to devour the next one. These stories felt like stepping into a f***ed up mixture of Twilight Zone, Tales from the Crypt and Black Mirror - and they had a nice bloody red thread running through them. Loved it!
So, yes, Mr. Beauregard….keep these coming! And make it quick!
Another great entry in the Morbid Curiosities series. This one finds juvenile delinquent Kyle, being sent to a ominous sounding camp called, Cemetery Camp. His mother Mia is at her wits end trying to straighten her 16 year old out. She knows if Kyle doesn't get his act together soon he will end up in prison or worse. When she learns of Cemetery Camp and their unorthodox ways she jumps at the chance to save her son. What follows is a wild and crazy ride for Kyle. Will he get his shit together, or will he revert back to his old ways? I guess you need to read this to find out. #booksfromthedoomsaloon #creepinitreal
This book is another great read from an awesome author. Aron Beauregard has quickly become my favorite author to date and that says a whole lot, as I have read many, many horror/splatter books. This book is another great example of the author’s work, however the ending was not what I was expecting and didn’t see coming. If you love this author’s other work or if this is your introduction, you will not be disappointed in the least! Would give more than 5 stars, if possible. Can’t wait for the next book!
I enjoyed all 3 stories in this series. It's hard to pick a favorite. Cemetery Camp is about Kyle who was just released from Juvie, and his mother sends him to a special camp. Things are not what they seem at camp for Kyle.
I swear Aron always leaves me wanting more! As usual, well done. I also enjoy reading About the Author section in each book. If you haven’t done this, I highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed!
Whole series was great. Love Aron's writing. Probably my favorite horror author currently writing. Highly recommend any of his books but especially this and Playground
Well this was just as good if not better than the last book. Book 2 in this series. This definitely gets your brain doing somersaults and twirling around thoughts and wonderment at this storyline. Every parent that has troublesome child that you try everything with, but they do no heed your advice, lessons, or wisdom. Just go down the wrong road through choices they have madw, whether it be as they are angry, hurt or even influenced or any other way unmentioned. It can be the most heart breaking and scariest of times. All you want is help or answers. This is a story of just what would happen if such places existed. A scary thought but also some parents relief? Definitely has you questioning what you would do In That situation. Regardless a brilliant read with some great characters. Fascinating and insightful. I just hope there'll be more from the Morbid Curiosities series as I will gladly an happily purchase. 100% Recommended!
The third and final installment (so far) was a banger.. What would you do if youre at your wits end with the person you love? Juvie/Jail time was already served and yet the lesson was never learned. (I feel that most jail time people do not learn their lessons. They come out harder than what they were before. There is no reform for lifers, career criminals)
This book shows you can be reformed with the right motivation.
Mia feels her son is a lost cause. When she comes across Morbid Curiosities and is offered a once in a life time chance to reform her son, she has no other choice but to send him, a last ditch effort.
Kyle gets dropped off and this hidden place at midnight, sketchy doesnt even begin to describe his feelings about everything. Will he learn a lesson now or return with no hopes of getting out?
At the end of the book we get a little glimpse of the authors backstory. Joe, whoever you are, thank you! These three books were different than Beauregards usual but were some of my favorites from him and hope the little shop of horrors gets more books.
In the third (but hopefully not final!) installment of the Morbid Curiosities series, single mother Mia is at the end of her rope with her teenage son Kyle. He is moody, defiant, selling drugs, and heading down a path that Mia is desperate to save him from. Juvie hasn't worked, so she puts her misgivings aside to try Cemetery Camp.
I love prison shows, both the scripted and the reality ones, and Beyond Scared Straight is one of my favorites. These kids who think they go so hard soon find out what prison life really entails. There are some success stories, but all too often, the updates show the kids returning to their old ways. For anyone scratching their head and wondering why, it's because they are shown what their life could be through the lens of someone else, and most kids don't connect with that.
Cemetery Camp is different because Kyle won't just get to imagine what his life could be through hearing the stories of others; he will experience it firsthand in ways that you'll have to read for yourself.
The afterword is just as engrossing as the book! Do yourself a favor and order these three little books that are a love letter to The Twilight Zone. You will want more Morbid Curiosities after reading these gems!

Leaving Morbid Curiosities with a leaflet for Cemetery Camp, Mia Simms may have finally found the answer to saving her son from self-destruction. Dropping off her dangerous son at Cemetery Camp, Kyle and a few others find themselves in the middle of a nightmare unlike anything they've ever faced before.
The concluding installment to this trilogy is brilliant, a really atmospheric, violent and disturbing horror novella that's also really clever and well-written.
Overall: I've absolutely loved this trilogy, so fingers crossed there will be more in the future! 10/10
I enjoyed this as much as the first Morbid Curiosities! (I was not a big fan of the second one, despite loving its premise). The story felt concise and final - a part of me wishes it was longer but maybe only for more carnage from the camp, the “Cemetery Camp”.
Without spoiling much, the story revolves around a rebellious son sent to this camp by a desperate mother at her wits end. Cemetery Camp is promised to be an extreme sort of correctional therapy that doesn’t physically harm its patients. You will very quickly find out what goes around the camp alongside the reason why it gets its name.
The story is barely 70 pages long so it is a very quick read but the pacing isn’t rushed nor overwhelming (given you can stomach this kind of extreme horror)I hope there are more Morbid Curiosities books in the future!
This is a stark contrast from the second book in the series, but no less incredible. Honestly, I'm glad that I read these *AFTER* reading "The Slob," as I probably would have had a very different reaction to both.
With #3 in the series, it goes back to the extreme horror and the dark path, but it (like #2) has a very interesting take on the genre. This had more of a psychological bend to it, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It wasnt simply horror for the sake of horror. There was a justifiable and cohesive reason behind it.
It might also be because I was just like Kyle when I was his age and I saw a lot of myself in him.
I am so sad that this series is over! Certainly rushing to find other titles by this author! I love how these stories all wove together but I think they could be read as stand-alones also. Mia has had enough. Her son Kyle is out of control and she is at her breaking point. With some guidance from a strange woman running a curiosities shop-she finally has a plan for scaring Kyle onto a straight path. This is no ordinary scared straight program. Mia drops Kyle off in the middle of the night with no question or clue of what horrors awaits him.
Beauregard's short story of making all the wrong choices and learning a life lesson. I caught an afterward by him that shed light on the overall theme of the series of books and will have to double back and read the first two. It is his own homage to Rod Sterling and his early entries into splatterpunk. While not as visceral as some of his others, it showed the potential for later writings.
I'm bummed that I read this book before the other two. The story is great as a stand alone so it is by personal choice. Honestly I didn't know what to expect going into this but it gives playground vibes (loosely) I truly did like the end reveal and because of how good this is I actually ended up reading the other two in the series.
