This book allow students who feel they are a dork actually relate to someone, even if it is a made up book. I really feel this might help a child's self esteem. It talks about all the famous dorks and they are people who have really succeeded. This book does make "cool kids" look bad, but most children will know that all "cool kids" are not as mean as Gabe, the antagonist in the novel.

By the middle I was ready to give Dork on the Run four stars. Then flaws made itself present and much of the scenes I became irritated with. His first grade little sister doesn't really come off as a person of her age, rather her attitude, and mannerisms are that of a pre-teen. I had trouble believing much of her speech would come from a six year old. With Brenda, Jerry's sort of girlfriend, I couldnt understand why she did all these things for him, Jerry never really had to lay a finger regarding anything. She took care of everything surrounding everything and it it was getting to me. Same with Zoey, a new girl whose status runs high because of the mystery and nonchalant ways about her, always tells Jerry of Gabe's new schemes on him. I wondered what was the meaning of her presence other than for that and maybe changing Cinnamon's view of Jerry at the end.
Not sure if I'd recommend it now to pre-adolescents. As just the first and mostly the middle were great. I give it a high 3.

Dork on the Run By
Carol Gorman. This book is about a dorky kid that is running for president.Jerry is new to this school and he want to level up his reputation so he ran for grade six president but Gabe(a popular guy) ran to be the president, this will be the greatest challenge of Jerry's life; how do you think will win, find it out by reading this book.

The best thing about this book is the character Jerry, one time it was the election Gabe ambushed Jerry with a scissors and cut his hair. Although after every thing Gabe did to Jerry, Jerry would not get revenge.

The theme was the popularity don't always win, it's because Jerry was on the bottom of the popularity scale but he rises form there to the middle and he don't give although he was tortured.

I liked this book because it was funny and engaging. this book is the sequel to dork in disguise where jerry who was a dork in his old school tries as hard as he can to fit in with the cool kids. In dork on the run jerry is running for president, but his archenemy, gabe marshall (the coolest kid in school) will do anything to make him look like a dork again.

I thought this book was pretty interesting. It really shows how means kids can be to their classmates. I learned that in order to face a bully we need to be strong with what we believe and how to deal with certain situations.

This is downright hilarious! I can't blame him, though for trying not to run for president and having a bad previous life in school.
