Known as the King of New Raven, Marcus Borden’s reign isn’t without the constant bloodshed of his enemies. He can’t stop—he doesn’t know how to, not when he has a wife and child to protect. After the death of Terry Mulligan, Borden is determined to eradicate all threats, sometimes before they even begin to exist.

Emma Borden still relives her moments buried in the ground. Her nightmares are returning with a vengeance, but it’s not the feeling of being trapped that’s haunting her: it’s the pain of the past she relived while being confined inside the coffin.

But the past no longer continues to exist in her nightmares. Instead, it walks through the door and makes its presence known. This is a danger she knows all too well. A danger that cannot be defeated, no matter how hard Borden tries.

Sometimes the past doesn’t die…

Sometimes the ones you love must die to silence it…

The epic tale of Borden and Emma continues. Four years later after wiping the crucial threat Borden is still treatened, his family and position has a major obstacle: consequences of the past.
Staying at the top isn't easy for Borden, he has enemies so when it comes to protecting Emma and his son he wants no mistakes. Emma's past as a teenage rebel gives a persuation to help Borden but at what expense.
Emma wants normalcy and Borden wants her distracted but that's not easy. New Raven is contaminated with Terry Mulligan's cronies and more who wants to overthrow Borden. The bikers presence for Emma's safety has cause more trouble for Borden, he looks weak and needs help. Borden is determined to get his empire back, he is up to show who is the real thug of the street.
Emma and Borden's relationship is tested. There is never going to be "normal" in Emma's life and she doesn't deters from her promises, no wavering or hesitation. Every time Borden loses a part of himself she is there to glue him back. It's good to see them again talking dirty in the office room.

I had no idea there is going to be a book 3. The side characters are good. I think it's Emma and the side characters mostly when the book is about Borden. I felt bad about Graeme but now Theo? We have little presence of Theo in the book but his interaction with Stacie won me over. I hope Theo gets a book too. The epilogue had me in tears.

“𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐞. 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬…𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐭.”

Borden 3 is about Emma’s infamous past with her (almost lover) lost boy Theo. Past and present ~ collide.

If you guys like Peter Pan type of thang- Borden 3 is kind of like it… fairy tale retelling, but in a thuggish type of way. 🙂‍↔️

🎵 There was a time when I was alone
Nowhere to go and no place to call home
My only friend was the man in the moon
And even sometimes he would go away, too
Then one night, as I closed my eyes
I saw a shadow flying high
He came to me with the sweetest smile
Told me he wanted to talk for awhile
He said, "Peter Pan
That's what they call me
I promise that you'll never be lonely"
And ever since that day 🎵

R.J. Lewis has once again woven a tapestry of words that enraptures the mind, enthralls the soul, and leaves an indelible mark on my heart. With the release of “Borden 3,” R.J. Lewis has proven yet again why my favorite author reign supreme in the realm of storytelling.

From the very first page, I was drawn into a world teeming with life, pulsating with raw emotion, and brimming with unforgettable characters. Each sentence is meticulously crafted, each paragraph a brushstroke on the canvas of imagination.

R.J. Lewis possesses an extraordinary gift for painting vivid landscapes with words, taking readers to distant lands, and immersing them in richly textured environments.

At the heart of “Borden 3” lies a captivating narrative that unfolds with the precision of a master storyteller. The plot is intricately woven, with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very last page. From exhilarating action sequences to poignant moments of introspection, every scene is infused with a sense of urgency and authenticity that is impossible to ignore.

One of the most remarkable aspects of R.J. Lewis’s writing is their ability to breathe life into their characters. Each protagonist, antagonist, and supporting player is carried out with such depth and complexity that they leap off the page and take on a life of their own.

From the brooding anti-hero to the spunky heroine, every character feels like a fully realized individual with hopes, fears, and desires of their own.

Moreover, R.J. Lewis tackles themes of love, loss, redemption, and resilience with a skillful hand and a keen eye for detail. Through the trials and tribulations of their characters, they explore the human condition in all its complexity, shining a light on the triumphs and tragedies that shape our lives. In doing so, they remind us of the power of storytelling to illuminate the darkest corners of our souls and inspire us to strive for greater heights.

In conclusion, “Borden 3” is a tour de force that showcases R.J. Lewis’s unparalleled talent.

It is a book that will linger in the minds of readers long after the last page is read, leaving me yearning for more and eagerly anticipating R. J. Lewis’s next new release. With its masterful storytelling, richly drawn characters, and thought-provoking themes, “Borden 3” is a must-read for anyone who appreciates the transformative power of fiction.

“Borden 3” by R.J. Lewis is the third installment in a gripping series that delves into the complex and entangled world of Marcus Borden, a formidable figure in the criminal underworld. In this book, readers continue to follow Borden’s journey as he navigates through a landscape fraught with danger, betrayal, and moral ambiguity.

The story explores Borden’s evolution as a character, delving deeper into his psyche and motivations. As he confronts new challenges and adversaries, readers are taken on a rollercoaster ride of action, suspense, and unexpected twists.

Against the backdrop of a sprawling metropolis, Borden grapples with themes of loyalty, redemption, and the consequences of his past actions. The narrative is propelled forward by a cast of captivating characters, each with their own agendas and secrets.

Throughout the book, author R.J. Lewis masterfully weaves together intricate plot threads, keeping readers guessing until the very end. “Borden 3” is an electrifying and immersive read that will leave fans eagerly anticipating the next installment in the series.

I love the Borden series and so glad I reread books 1 and 2 before reading this as it helped me get back into Emma and Bordens life, which I think i would have struggled with otherwise.

Emma annoyed me at first. Like she's always wanted Borden to be honest with her but she wouldn't open up to him about the man in her past! I get she's having nightmares, feeling loss and feeling like she wasn't what Borden needed and it should have been Kate. But Borden constantly said things to her that he never said to Kate. You can tell that Borden loves Emma more than he ever loved Kate. He just liked the idea of Kate and how she was different, he never actually loved her.
Parts of this book broke me, how Borden didn't know what to do for the best to keep Emma and Link safe. You feel his pain and vulnerability in R J Lewis writing. How he wants a better life for Emma and Link with him, how what he started before Emma has made him have to be what he is now.

Theo is Emma's past - at first I wasn't into the parts of the book which was Emma's past but as the story developed , I enjoyed knowing more about Emma's teen years. Theo is tar to Emma, he wasn't good for her but even with years of no contact there was always a part of him stuck to her. Not love or sadness over a lost friendship but regret for how she treated granny, for what she experienced with Theo, for how she ended there friendship. She wanted an escape from what happened to her parents, but he was toxic and broken himself - a lost boy.

The ending to this book was perfect. I feel like Emma and Borden had a happier home for it.

Wish I'd read Hawke before though as there's parts of the story which makes me wonder why we have Hector instead of Hawke. But then I fall in love with Hector's character, who has so many layers to him (hoping he has a book).

Yeah. No.
Way to ruin the series. This book just should not have happened. THERE WAS NO NEED. It’s not even that the story itself was so bad, it’s that it took a happy ending and twisted it, distorting even the past, and ruining the characters. For no reason! This story did not have to be about Emma and Borden. In fact, I would have really LIKED it if it was about entirely different characters. I thought Theo was a super interesting character, but I hate that he’s just another tortured antihero in Emma’s life when we already have Borden. Like for fucks sake give him his own damn story, don’t thrust him into an established couple. And fucking EMMA. I fucking despised her in this. It made NO FUCKING SENSE WHATSOEVER that she kept her past with Theo a secret after he showed up. It was just stupid and hypocritical after all her complaining about not being told things. And it really changed her trauma backstory to the point that none of her relationship with Borden made sense. After Theo, why would she want to be with Borden.

If this was a stand-alone book with all new/different people, I would have given it a 4. However, since it ruined this Borden series for no fucking reason, I’m giving it a 2. Total fucking Godfather 3 disappointment, should’ve left well enough alone.

AMAZING!!!

This whole series is FANTASTIC!!
Borden is a bad ass MF!!! He’s a villain through and through but he LOVES HARD and he loves Emma so much it’s a beautiful thing to see.
Emma and Bordens witty office banter is freaking hilarious!!! I laughed out loud so many times during this series I mean come on these 2 are absolutely PERFECT for each other it’s sickeningly sweet I love every single minute of it!
It’s really rare for me to find books that pull so many emotions from me and this whole series has done it, I’d even go so far as to say most of RJ Lewis’s books have done this to me it’s such a delight as an avid reader to find an author whose books tick all your boxes I’ve devoured almost all her books and can’t wait for more!!!
This was a great addition to the first 2 books it was awesome to reunite with Emma and Borden and his crew.
I hope we get more of this world it’s been one hell of a ride!!
The smexy times were so 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 YUM!!!

I loved the series but I was pretty hard for me to read the book. First of all I think that we talk a little bit too much about Kate. I mean they have a four year old together and somehow we still talk about her pretty often ?!?!? That’s weird. I get it he loves Emma more but I don’t know

And I was getting tired of the whole thing about him being in power and not being able to quit the life. I’m still not sure if I’m blaming him for not trying enough and being selfish to force his family into this lifestyle or if I’m blaming Emma because she knew Danm well what she was getting herself into and she has been warned by litteraly everybody including Borden and she still decided that she wants to stay with him and now she expect him to change. I don’t know I feel like both points are valid but anyways I’m just tired I feel like the book could’ve ended with the happy ending epilogue of the book 2

It's been YEARS since I read the first two books. I was so excited when I saw that there was a third book. I love Marcus Borden as much now as I did then. I wasn't a huge fan of Emma in book 2 because I thought she was whiny. I really enjoyed this grown up version of her as a mother and wife and she and Borden still have great chemistry. I liked the relationship/friendship that grew between her and Hector as well.

Noooo why write this book and utterly destroy a completely perfect duet? I was on a high re-reading the first two instalments and then went on to this publication and had to DNF 40% in bc it absolutely destroyed my happy ending high.
I even created a new tag for Borden 3: books that destroyed the series 😵‍💫🤦‍♀️
