For his heart to heal, he must let go of his guilt...

Teddy

The bomb exploded... and changed my life forever. I was the only member of my unit to survive, and every day I wonder why. Why me and not them? Now that I learned a fellow soldier left me his family fortune, it’s made the guilt unbearable. I have the money to do whatever I want, except change the past.

Mia

I was attracted to Teddy the moment our eyes met. Yet the survivor's guilt he suffers is palpable. I want to get close, but he’s determined to keep the world at arm's length. Can I help him learn to celebrate his second chance instead of blaming himself simply for surviving?

This is Teddy and Mia's story

Let me first start off by saying that Oakside Military Heroes books can Each stand on their own, but honestly, if you are going to read any of the books in this series, I would read them in order, cuz there are little tidbits about Some of the characters in each book… For example, in the epilog to the previous book, we had got a glimpse of Teddy.

Teddy struggles with survivor’s guilt after his whole team was killed in Bomb….. Also Teddy’s best friend was in his unit with him and died just feets away from him. To make matters worse, that same best friend left him Everything he owned.
Due to the fact that Teddy is suffering severely of survivor’s guilt and is not utilizingIs therapy or talking to anybody about his feelings. He is Falling behind on his physical therapy at times he even refuses to do it. Teddy just doesn’t think he deserves happiness

Mia, has the best job ever! She is the nanny to her best friend, Ellie, and her billionaire husband Owen

Ellie and Owen, they decided, since it’s summer break to take a two-month family vacation,
Mia could’ve have taken her vacation anywhere, but she decided to volunteer her time and spend the summer at Oakside

This installment and had somewhat Frustrated me. I think I might step away from it, Before I read the next installment in this series,

Update on Kleenex Company
I also might want to mention to you if you had happened to read any of my previous reviews on this Series that I did end up Joining up with a few friends and we tried to invested in Kleenex Company, after falling in love with this author Military Heroes books …… so sadly we couldn’t Purchase a Kleenex Company. So we started couponing. For tissues and Kleenex…….

Happy Reading Everyone, I’ll see you on the other side

4.5 Star review of Saving Teddy (Oakside Military Heroes #3) by Kaci Rose
This book features Teddy, the only survivor of a bomb blast who struggles with survivor’s guilt and Mia a friend of Owen and Ellie who we met in previous books, who has decided to spend her summer volunteering at Oakside.
From the minute she sets eyes on Teddy, Mia is attracted to him but the survivor’s guilt he feels is palpable and when you add in that his best friend Brian, who died in the blast has left him his substantial family fortune, she knows that Teddy has an uphill battle on his hands.
The letter that Teddy received from Brian ways heavily on him and it is that as well as his guilt that is hampering him from improving. Each book in the series has dealt with a different form of injury and it is obvious that Ms.Rose has done her research diligently.
However Teddy and Mia have more in common than either of them realize. Can these two come to terms with the past and together move forward? Their journey will be rocky, but if they can make it through it will be worth it in the end.
I have loved every book I have read so far and this was a great addition to the series.

This is Teddy and Mia's story and both are new characters to this series so it easily stands alone. But this story does feature many characters from the previous books in this series but also characters from her other book especially her Accidental Sugar Daddy romance as that is where readers might remember Mia from.

Other minor characters in this story are Ellie and Owen from the Accidental Sugar Daddy, Dallas and Austin from She's Still the One, and Kade and Lin from the Sunrise Duet.

If you read Accidental Sugar Daddy it is a story about a single mom, Ellie who meets a rich man, Owen and they fall in love, get married and hire her best friend Mia to be her kids nanny. In this book Owen and Ellie are huge donaters to Oakside which is where Teddy is living as he recuperates from military injuries when he was the only one who survived a bombing.

If you have been reading this series you know that Oakside is run by Lexie and Noah. Mia comes to Oakside to help out while Ellie and Owen and the kids tour the USA in a camper. She meets Teddy on her first day and he falls very fast for her and she for him. But he has a long way to recovery and it was awesome watching how Mia helps him on his journey.

This was an awesome story and I liked that his recovery was not easy. He has set backs and he keeps alot of things inside. I liked that he has a very complicated journey and Mia gave him space to recover at his own pace.

This is a novella size story and it is a fast and easy read with many hot scenes. It does have a bit of insta lust/love but they also have a complicated journey as they fall for each other.

Some things in the story were a bit too convenient. Like Mia living in Knoxville and thats where Teddy has a connection as well. Also the scene when Teddy visits his friends grave and the Julie connection was a bit much to be believable. But aside from that I loved this story and enjoyed the story.

I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I have been enthralled, enchanted and bewitched by this series, and none more so than with Saving Teddy, another emotional compulsive read, and if I had to only pick one series for 2021 then this would be it.

Teddy is one of the patients at Oakside, a rehabilitation centre for military veterans, as the sole survivor from an explosion while on tour, he not only holds that guilt but an even bigger one, one that is stopping him from making a full recovery. When Mia comes to help out at the centre for the summer she and Teddy have an instant connection, both having tragedy in their pasts. But the closer Mia gets to Teddy the more he sudden withdraws.

I was so impressed with Kaci Roses storyline for this couple, it was written beautifully.

Highly recommend

These books seem to be falling into a rhythm now, but I don't care. It's still fun to see one of the guys who's struggling come back to life with the right motivation. I liked how Mia was there to just help and Teddy was one of the ones she was helping. They seemed to have a connection from the start and both of them nurtured that. I think by sharing hard things it seemed to bond them and made them trust each other a bit more. While they had some bumps along the way, they were still willing to be in each others lives, as noted by the voice mails. I really liked how this one ended, loved seeing both of them happy and together.

This book, along with the other books of the series, gave me the feels. Teddy had it with overseas and now he is state side at Oakside trying to deal with the trauma. Mia is like a bright ray of sunshine at Oakside the summer. She has a firm hand with Teddy but also there is a sweetness to her to help him get past the trauma. Will Mia succeed and getting Teddy to concentrate on the future instead of living in the past?

I am throughly enjoying the Oakside Military Herp Series. In each story the hero is going through a unique experience and able to come out on on the other side. I loved the relationship between Teddy and Mia. She understood in a part what he was feeling and going through that it made him feel more comfortable to open up about his experience. Mia knew what she needed to do when she went back home and left Teddy to figure what he needed to do to get better on his own. He was able to get past his guilt and do what his friend Brian wanted. Mia knew how to push him but at the same time when to give him space to work things out for himself. I look forward to more books from this series.

Teddy is an injured soldier and comes to Oakside to heal. Mia is volunteering at Oakside for the summer. They both feel the connection as soon as they meet. Teddy has survivor’s guilt and doesn’t think he deserves happiness. Mia is only trying to help. She also knows Teddy’s healing will take a long time. Teddy’s struggle is heart wrenching. He is lucky Mia is so understanding. If only all the struggling veterans find their angel like Mia. Touching story.

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice read, a little longer than I usually read but worth it.

Teddy and Mia met when she spends the summer at Oakside to volunteer. Mia best friend was killed on prom night. Mia and her friend, Julie were at prom when their date slipped alcohol into their drinks. Mia woke up in the hospital and found out her best friend was killed. Teddy is a patient at Oakside and Mia is asked to work with him to get him to open up. Mia makes sure Teddy goes to his physical therapy appointment. Teddy’s whole unit was killed overseas but he finds out he was left a company by one of his fellow soldiers. Teddy reads over the letter several times a day. Teddy doesn’t know why he was left the company. Teddy won’t open up about being the only survivor when they attack his unit. Mia tries to get Teddy to open up about what happened but he won’t. Mia waits for Teddy whenever he goes to physical therapy. Teddy asks Mia to stay and have dinner with him and while he’s using the restroom she finds a letter on the floor. Mia starts to read the letter, she’s not sure why. When Teddy comes out he sees Mia reading his letter he yells at her. Mia runs back to Lexi and Noah’s home. The next day Teddy apologizes to Mia but she tells him he needs to talk about this. Teddy refuses to, he doesn’t feel anyone has the right to know he’s the only survivor. Teddy and Mia make love. Mia spends time with Lexi helping her out when she’s not with Teddy. Teddy opens up to Mia about losing his friend Brian and him leaving his company to him, after she shared her story about her friend, Julie. Teddy tells Mia about the company he inherited but doesn’t want. Teddy gets upset and thinks Mia is flirting with someone he makes a rude remark to her, then goes on a run. Teddy set himself back several weeks in physical therapy. Mia heads back to Knoxville because she doesn’t see Teddy opening up about what happened overseas anytime soon. After Mia leaves Teddy opens his eyes and sees he can’t be without Mia. So Teddy works hard talking to his therapist about what happened. Teddy makes his arrangements to leave Oakside and take over the company his best friend Brian left him. When Teddy gets to Knoxville he heads to the cemetery, then the company to learn what he can. Teddy spends the next several weeks learning about the company and only calls Mia with updates. Teddy makes plans to take Mia on a date and calls her. Mia is impressed with Teddy’s improvements. So Teddy asks Mia to spend the night since he has to go out of town. When Teddy comes home he asks Mia to marry him and she tells him yes.

Survivor Guilt: Makes a good story - and a difficult life.
by Shotgun 839

Saving Teddy by Kaci Rose:

OK. Take a deep breath. This was a difficult book/ review decision for me.

Why? Been there, done that. Not in months, but in years.

Well - I understand everyone’s experience(s) are different, yet there are significant commonalities.

One of my pet peeves which authors use as a plot device is the repeated inner dialog of why or what keeps a principle character from doing what the reader wants the character to do. One wants to scream - “Just get on with it and stop the stalling/deflecting/denying/procrastinating/resisting".
In real life - that type of intervention is simply stupid. It just makes things worse.
And, Author Kaci Rose has shown that the internal dialog(s) can be more significant road blocks than any well-meaning, but misapplied interventions. However, having people who care enough to go the distance is one of the of a person being able to recover their life from its significant clutches.
Survivor guilt can become a way of life. And in so doing, it creates blind spots which can be really debilitating. And, real life, contrary what is usually portrayed in fiction writing, is just not that simple. This is because, in real life, there are nearly always several other factors in the mix. Survivor guilt is but one component of what has been come to be called PTSD.
But it can be a significant part of what traumatizes the person. And, FYI, it is not limited to military combat experiences.

Other reviewers will outline, or more thoroughly describe the plot line(s) of the book. And that is fine. I have done that as well. But, that is not what I am trying to say here. The blurb speaks of “letting go”. It is just not that simple . . . it requires a major healing of the mind and heart.

Authors have deadlines. Books have size limits.
But real life is not so constrained. Ms. Kaci Rose has tried to describe the incredible impacts survivor guilt can have on a person.
She has been able to do so somewhat, within the confines of this book - and the others in the series I would expect, since I have not read them - to describe some of these.

Kudos to Ms. Kaci Rose, who has chosen to deal with a really gnarly human dynamic, trying to smooth out some of the wrinkles in it and encourage readers with a happy ending.

Saving Teddy (Oakside Military Heroes #3)

by Kaci Rose (Goodreads Author)

Read

In this third book in Kaci's Oakside Military Heroes series you are introduced to Teddy who feels he is just as broken as Noah and Easton were. Kaci delivers yet another heartbreaking and emotional story that has you shedding a couple of tears while reading it.

Mia is a friend of Ellie and Owen's, who we were introduced to in Saving Easton, and decides to volunteer her summer off at Oakside house. She is a fun-loving, easy going and beautiful young lady that seems to have life by the handles. That is unit she meets Teddy at Oakside and then she is determined to help him in any way that she can. As they get close she finds that he is the only survivor of his unit and that is haunting him. There is so much more under the surface of Teddy that she wants to discover and help with but he has to let her in. Can she break down his walls? Is she really cut out to help vets that have so much pain and hurt?

Teddy has survived a horrific bombing and to make it worse he is the only survivor of his unit. He physically is healing but refuses to go to PT. He is suffering from survivor's guilt and to make things worse his best buddy has left him with a company and money worth a billion or so. He cannot figure out why he did this because he feels that he should not be given something because he survived and the others did not. Well, in walks Mia and she is a spitfire in his eyes. She is beautiful and is not going to back down from anything. Is she just the person that can help Teddy see that he is worth everything? Can Teddy let her in and help him heal? What happens when they get close and things get hot? When Mia does something that Teddy cannot forgive her for, is that the breaking point for Mia? What will Teddy do now?

Kaci never disappoints with her stories or her writing. She grabs a hold of your heartstrings and never let's go. The chemistry between Mia and Teddy is perfect and they are made for each other. I thoroughly loved this story as it dealt with more mental healing rather than physical healing. I cannot wait to see what Kaci has in store for us in the next installment in this series.

The author delivers another wonderful story in this much loved series. A series about military veterans who have returned injured , lost and needing a place to finish their recovery as well as needing to find a place in civilian life. This time the story belongs to Teddy and Mia.
Teddy was badly injured in a mission where all his teammates were killed. He is suffering from survival guilt, specially since his best friend Brian, was one of the victims.
A letter send to him has been torturing him and he has not really allowed himself to deal with his feelings.
Mia is volunteering at Oakside while her bosses and friends, Owen and Ellie are traveling with their girls. From the moment Mia and Teddy meet the attraction is evident. Neither realizing that their past experiences are similar. Thus opening them to a tentative friendship.
Can each overcome the obstacles necessary to find inner peace and happiness? Will they end up together or will their time be just a memory?
These stories are at times heartbreaking but also heartwarming. Kudos to the author for reminding us of the struggles these brave men and women have to endure once they returned to civilian life. Many injured and unsure of their future. As a society and individuals we must do more for them.
I am looking forward to more stories in this series by this very talented author.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Booksprout. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch, It is heartfelt and you will find yourself in tears! Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the Oakside Military Heroes series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. As stated, each book reads as a standalone but the basis of each is injured, lost, ptsd (in some cases), needing a place to recover among others who understand what they are going through, how to adjust /get back to being a civilian. Teddy is the sole survivor of his team, severely injured, trying to deal with living when all his best friend/teammates were killed and the guilt of living. Mia is volunteering at Oakside and upon meeting Teddy the attraction is there but with so much on his mind will she even want to be around him (his thoughts) but upon getting to know each other realizing that they are that different. Fate and the magnetic pull they are feeling isn’t going to allow for anything but forgiveness for living, being okay for living and trying to live. Mia has her work cut out for her she will show him that he lived for a reason, he is worthy of living, and he is worthy of happiness does he eventually see her reasoning and can the two of them find peace and happiness?

This is book number 3 of the Oakside Military Heroes Series and focuses on Teddy and Mia. Mia is spending the summer volunteering at Oakside which is where she meets Teddy. Teddy is struggling with survivors guilt due to being the only person in his unit to survive after a bomb exploded. He feels that he doesn't deserve to be happy and live a happy life when the others in his unit can't. Mia has firsthand knowledge on working through survivors guilt so she is able to understand exactly where Teddy is coming from and feeling. They both feel an undeniable connection to each other but Teddy is struggling a great deal especially due to the letter that he received that stated that his best friend, who also died in the explosion, left him a large portion of his family fortune. I loved seeing Mia and Teddy together and seeing Mia work to break down some of Teddy's walls to show him he is worthy of living and being happy.

I absolutely loved everything about this story! The author is able to portray the pain, heartbreak, joy, and love so clearly. When you read the books in this series, you feel all the feels everytime. I appreciate that the author took great care with her writing and the research for this series and it definitely shows. I cannot recommend this series or this author enough.

I’m loving this series and as in the previous books I found myself engrossed in the story and falling hook, line and singer for the characters, this time it’s Teddy and Mia’s journey.
Teddy is a bomb blast survivor and as the only one to make it home he is not only trying t get over his injuries, he is also suffering from survivors guilt. The injuries seem the least of his problems.because the best friend he lost in the blast left him a very large amount of his family fortune. It’s going to be a tough, uphill battle for Teddy and it’s going to take a very special woman to break down his walls.
Mia is spending the summer volunteering at Oakside and from the moment she meets Teddy she feels a connection but it’s going to take more than an attraction to break down his walls and make this man feel worthy of love and a life.
Saving Teddy is book 3 in the Oakside Military Heroes Series, each book features a different hero suffering from a different injury and it’s pretty clear Kaci Rose has done a lot of research. This is a great addition to the series, it has wonderful characters, it’s captivating, ir will tear at your heartstrings and at times it will make you smile. It’s a great read with all the feels.

Another great story in the Oakside series!

Teddy is suffering from survivor's guilt, he is the only one to survive a blast out of his until. He arrives at Oakside to start his rehab to help him walk again. He is very closed off because he does not understand why he was the only one to survive. He also received a letter from a member of his unit and he does not know how to accept what was said. Mia is visiting Oakside just for the summer. When she meets Teddy, sparks fly. Mia understands what Teddy is going through more than anyone else. But how can Mia and Teddy be together when Teddy will not discuss anything that he is feeling?

I loved Mia and Teddy's story. They understand each other more than anyone. Mia just wants Teddy heal and not pretend to move on and accept what happen, she wants him to take it through and truly heal. Mia was a strong woman in this story, even though it broke her heart, she did what needed to be done. The chemistry between the two was off the charts!

Also, I love how Kaci brought back soooo many of her characters from different books! You are really in for a treat when you see all the characters she brought into this story. Cannot wait for the next one!

I was more emotional reading this book than the first two books. Especially the letters :'( They really made me cry more than a few times. I would've loved to meet Brian in this book, he seemed like a total sweetheart.

Teddy, my guy, I felt your pain and survivors guilt. I can't even imagine what you've been through. I'm glad you got your shit together to heal yourself spiritually and physically. I felt you struggled the most mentally. I didn't like how you burst out at Mia, especially when she wasn't treating you the way you hated everyone was treating you. But I can't be mad at you because you did go through so much. I'm so proud of you for taking your role in the company that Brian left you. You're going to crush it!

Mia, my sweet girl, you are one hell of a woman. I liked how you didn't take any bullshit from Teddy and that you had enough self respect to take a break from him for yourself. But at the same time you never really gave up on Teddy and your relationship.

Overall, a very quick and easy read. It's not the best executed book I've read, but I got what I needed with this series. I know the fourth book is about Mandy and Levi, but I really want to read about my precious Jake <3 I saw he has a story, but a very short one. Perfect I guess :)

I first found out about this series from a blind date with a book from Kaci Rose’s TikTok shop. I immediately fell in love with how the story goes and bought the whole series. I have since had time to binge through the series and I do not regret it one bit.

Saving Teddy is about a soldier who is recovering from injuries from an IED and learning to live a new life with the cards he was given. He has a lot of survivors guilt and we are introduced to a letter that he reads every day, until he starts spending more time with Mia.

Mia is a best friend to one of the people who donates a lot of money to help build Oakside into the best rehab facility it can be. She nannies for her friend and is given some time off when the family decides to go on a cross-country road trip. To fill her time, Mia volunteers at Oakside and meets Teddy.

As with all of the Oakside books, it is love at first sight. One quality I always love in a book. I know a lot of people have trouble with it because it doesn’t seem to happen in real life. Unlike the other books, Mia and Teddy do not have a past with each other. Mia is there to help support Teddy, and other veterans, as well as motivate them to get better.

There is a time where to two go separate ways, but I think the way Kaci Rose does it is for the best. It gives Teddy time to learn how to manage his survivors guilt so he can be the best for Mia.

Overall, the book is fast paced with very little spice, which I always think is nice in a romance book. I would recommend this series to anyone who is not triggered with survivors guilt.

Teddy is the lone survivor of a bomb who took out his friends, and now that he's back home, he's struggling a great deal. I'm telling you that I felt his feelings deep down so I spent this book heartbroken because he was a protector but couldn't protect everyone on his team. It sure didn't help when a fellow soldier left him said soldier's fortune, and it's safe to say that Teddy feels guilty about that as well. Mia has been volunteering her summer at Oakside, and from the moment their eyes met, she's been attracted to him but Mia not only has a big heart, but is smart so she knows that he's got a long road ahead of him. Their journey isn't one for the weak as survivor's guilt is totally a brutal situation with no pat answer, and Teddy's struggle was real (not to mention realistic). He did his best to push her away, but little did he know they have more in common than he would have ever guessed. This story did a number on my heart, and there's no doubt in my mind as a veteran that Kaci Rose did her homework because again I felt it deep down. Don't pass Saving Teddy up, as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The Healing Love Of His Angel -
After reading books one and two of the Oakside Military Heroes Series, I didn’t expect to have my centre of gravity shaken and stirred by book three. Teddy had given up on everything, as he didn’t feel like he had a life worth living, however, as luck would have it, fate brought Mia into his life, as she had experience of how he felt. The back and forth between them will have you on tenterhooks trying to anticipate whether they will get a happily ever after, but their scorching sexual encounters will leave you green with envy.

I love reading military romance stories, because when I turn the pages, my solemn wish is that our military brothers and sisters who returned with their lives changed, would be able to experience the happily ever after depicted in the stories as a reality. I truly appreciate the time and effort Kaci Rose put into writing the amazing books in the series so far. I am really looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Teddy and Mia

She met him when she took her free (paid) summer to volunteer at Oakside, a transitional facility for military before they are ready to move back to their new lives after severe injuries mental and physical. His mental concerns were holding him back physically and no one seemed to get to talk. She hoped just as a friend it may help.

He'd never reacted this way to any woman. Still, he didn't deserve happiness. He didn't deserve to be alive when no one else in his team did. Survivor Guilt they call it. Maybe. It was real. What his best friend and one of those lost made it worse with what he did.

The two find each other and feelings deepen. Still, each has its own pain from the past. Do they want a new future with the other to put it behind them?

It's hard to like Teddy all the time, then he does something that steals Mia's and the reader's heart. Will he be able to put the past behind him? Will she be patient enough to wait for him? Steam, great characters, a touching story you won't want to miss.

This book has a few brilliant inspiration quotes & a motto too.

"That's normal to feel scared. You just can't let fear control you. Some people say, if you aren’t living scares, then you aren't living"

Now let's get to the romance. I love this series because it is certain around military soldiers that are recovering at "Oakside Military Rehabilitation Home" that was created by Lexi & Noah. Really recommend their book "Saving Noah" and its still my fav

Teddy is in a wheelchair & Mia is assigned to him for company and help attend appointments. Teddy is leaning to walk again and to let people in. Mia is a ray of shine and Teddy loves it because she pushs that sunshine on him. These two are meant to be because both have suffered lost and, she wants to heal physically & mentally so can be Free. Which is late friend wished for him to be free.

Their romance has everything & it's a friends to lovers romance and healing each other from past lasts. Yes there a some steamy scenes and alot of awwww moments 🥰

Kaci Rose continues her uplifting series of military men. Saving Teddy describes the survivor';s guilt. Teddy is struggling coming to terms of an inheritance bestowed on him by a comrade in arms. He goes to Oakside Military Rehabilitation Home to recover from his own physical disabilities he suffered from his last deployment

Mia has seen the good the Oakside Military Rehabilitation Home for the soldiers lucky enough to spend time there. She decides to spend her summer off from work to volunteer to help at the Home. Mia wants to settle down and have a family of her own. She is happy for her friends, but is wondering if her time will come.

Mia's time at the Oakside Military Rehabilitation Home results in her meeting Teddy. Mia shares her past with Teddy. Although she has suffered losing a good friend, Teddy has a difficult time seeing the similarities. Can time and patience give them both what they want?

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Finally I was able to get back to one of my favorite series- Oakside Military Heroes! I have fallen so much in love w/Kaci’s writing, she’s one of my most favorite romance authors for cowboy, mountain men & war heroes! From book 1 to now I’m on book 3- Teddy & Mia’s story, all her books immediately grab me & only leave me wanting more!! And I love how she manages to tie all her series together, so we get to see characters f/other books.
Book 3, Saving Teddy, was another great book. Teddy is at Oakside dealing w/his injuries & his guilt of surviving when others in his troop died- including his best friend. It’s there he meets Mia who’s there for the summer, & she’s able to get him to open up by revealing her own survival story. But when it comes to Teddy opening up to others he shuts down, which ends up affecting his relationship w/Mia. It takes her leaving for him to realize that he loves her, & she’s worth trying. But there’s stuff he needs to do first, before he goes to claim his girl for good!

Mia is an I tern for the summer at Oakside. Teddy is a patient and still healing from his injuries. Teddy was in an explosion and now he is in a wheelchair. He will walk again they tell him if he puts in the effort. Mia is a nanny to her best friend Ellie and millionaire hubby Owen who is also a donor to Oakside.

Mia k owe what it is like to need to heal. She understands surviors guilt and needing to get your physical body back up and moving as well as your mental health.

Mia shares her story with Teddy and this helps Teddy a bit. The two strike up a nice friendship and that leads to more.

I feel that you should read Ellie and Owen's story before this one yet it is big part of this series. I wish I had read that first only because I feel they were a big part of Mia's story.

I love Mia for the fact she was not putting up with any BS and basically was like you let me know when you get your head out odf your ass. Teddy gets his scrap together real quick when he thinks Mia might be gone forever.

I love this series SO FREAKING MUCH! Kaci rose, you truly have something special with the Oakside Military Heroes Series and I am DEVOURING your books as fast as I can get them in my hands! This is Teddy's story and while his is much different from Noah and Easton's, there is still so much healing that he needs to do and while it is a struggle (both for him and me to read about his struggling) it is also absolutely heartwarming to see just how much one connection can mean to someone. When Mia comes into his life, everything changes!

All in all this book is full of so many highs and lows, but overall is heartwarming and heart-lifting and just made my heart so FREAKING full while reading. I cannot say enough positive things about it and if you are thinking about reading it, do it now! I give it 5 outta 5 stars and can't wait for to see what is next!

PS: Thank you to Kaci Rose and Give Me Books PR for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly.

This series has continued to constantly blow me away with each story and this one hit me in feels too. Teddy has had it rough while overseas and he is at Oakside trying to heal but he truly can’t until he realizes he must let go and accept his future. Mia is bright, cheery, and lovable. She is at Oakside to help for the summer what she doesn’t expect is Teddy and her attraction to him. Can Mia help Teddy forgive himself and see he has so much to be grateful for or is Teddy hurt too much to be able to move on and forward? The tragedies these guys endure is so heartbreaking yet watching them take time to heal mends your heart so much. Teddy was an amazing character who struggled with how things went and almost didn’t want to learn how to deal with it, but Mia’s toughness and sweetness helped him along the way. Another hit and I can’t wait for more!!!!
