Lucky came to Summer Lake for a fresh start. He’s tough, guarded, and haunted by nightmares that only his dog, Echo, can help him with.
When he first meets Dee, an author visiting the lake for the summer, he’s immediately drawn to her. At first sight, Dee’s drawn to him, too, but she’s terrified of Echo.
That might leave Lucky disappointed, but it’s not enough to deter Echo. She senses something special about Dee. And like Lucky, she’s a former Navy SEAL – she’s not a dog who gives up easily.
Lucky’s reluctant to let Dee in – he doesn’t let anyone in. Maybe it’s because she’s so warm and open, or maybe it’s the way she looks at him like he’s the only man in the world. Whatever it is, he finds himself falling for her, despite his reservations.
Dee knows she can be a lot to handle. She’s outgoing and tends to speak her mind but she’s not going to apologize for being herself. And no way is she looking for love – she’s been there twice and has the divorce decrees to prove it.
There’s something about Lucky, though. Maybe it’s the way he carries himself, like he’s seen things most people can't imagine, or maybe it’s the way he looks at her like she might be the one who can finally set him free.
Lucky's tough exterior starts to melt away as he realizes how much Dee means to him, and Dee starts to see the tender, loving side of him – the side that only Echo knows.
Life’s never plain sailing, though. Lucky still has nightmares, and Dee has two sons from her previous marriages who are protective of their mom.
These two have some obstacles ahead of them. It’ll take Echo's help for them to find the courage to take a chance on love.
Meet Me Where the Stars Fall is a touching and heartwarming story of second chances at love. Readers will be swept away by Lucky and Dee's journey, rooting for them every step of the way. Echo adds an extra layer of depth and emotion to this beautifully written love story.

Hi, I'm SJ. A coffee addict, lover of chocolate and drinker of good red wines. I'm a lost soul and a hopeless romantic. Reading and writing are necessary parts of who I am. Though perhaps not as necessary as coffee! I can drink coffee without writing, but I can't write without coffee.
I grew up loving romance novels, my first boyfriends were book boyfriends, but life intervened, as it tends to do, and I wandered down the paths of non fiction for many years. My life changed completely a couple of years ago and I returned to Romance to find my escape.
I write 'Sweet N Steamy' stories because to me there is enough angst and darkness in real life. My favorite romances are happy escapes with a focus on fun, friendships and happily-ever-afters, just like the ones I write.
These days I live in beautiful Montana, the last best place. If I'm not reading or writing you'll find me just down the road in the park - Yellowstone. I have deer, eagles and the occasional bear for company, and I like it that way :0)
I think by now, we all know that this book isn’t about Lucky and Dee. It’s all about Echo, a four legged matchmaker who is just getting started. First she matched Dalton and Taryn, and now that Lucky and Dee are together where they belong, she’s set her sights on Damon. I liked Dee but I think she should have done more than just flaunt her finances to her ex. After he made that crack about Lucky being her personal trainer (because OF COURSE she needed one), I would have kneed him in the crotch, straightened my crown, and walked away. But you’re going to have to wait for Damon’s story because next up is another visit to Montana. I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to everyone!
If you like strong women who speak the truth, then you will love this book. Dee moved to Summer Lake for the summer with the urging of her young friend Emma. Dee had made a good living for herself writing books with some of them being made into movies. She had a terrible experience when she was young with a dog and was deadly afraid of them. Along came Lucky with his dog Echo who both used to be active Navy Seals. One night Echo does something so out of character while walking on the beach with Lucky. Echo jumps over the tall fence around Dee’s pool and scared Dee half to death. Of course Lucky jumps over to save them. What a funny scene that was! Luckily Lucky is able to talk to Dee and shows her how gentle Echo was. I loved Echo, as the whole town seemed to also. Lucky had horrible nightmares from his time years ago in captivity and Echo was the only one to calm him down. I was happy to see the Dee and Lucky start to get to know each other. I loved how open Dee was with him and said what she thought. She was old enough that she didn’t want to play games. Plus she had two bad marriages behind her that taught her a lot. Lucky wanted to take their relationship slow. There were some funny things that happened that had me laughing. There were other things that made me so sad. This is such a good love story that I strongly encourage you to read it. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
I really enjoyed this book and of course Dee, Lucky & Echo and I have to say that Dee has become one of my favorite heroines. I’ve been crushing on Lucky and Echo from the previous book, and it was hard to read about Lucky and his nightmares when you want everything to be good for him. His first meeting with Dee, however, doesn’t go very well especially when he finds out she’s scared of dogs and Echo is his wingman and best friend, so not a good start. I loved when they were back on the beach and Echo took off on a straight shot towards Dee’s house and it ended up with everyone in the pool. This was definitely a turning point for all three of them, especially when she finds out Echo is nothing like the dog that traumatized her in her past and she has found a new friend in both of them, especially Lucky and who knows, maybe more. I loved getting to know them both more, seeing a lot of the original Summer Lake characters, finding out an update regarding Emma’s life and I love her love for both of her sons. When something happens between Lucky and Dee, he realizes that he needs to get some help and support to overcome or at least deal better with the nightmares. When Lucky returns from getting help with his nightmares, he decides to go all in with Dee and I was definitely a little worried for him especially when he knows her feelings on that subject. But when all was said and done, it worked out for Lucky, Dee, and Echo. I can’t wait to see more of these two. One of my favorite parts was when they dropped one of her sons off so he could see his dad and his wife for some event and with Lucky’s help they put him in his place, loved that part. This story is wonderful, and I’ll be adding it to my favorites list. So excited with the mention of all the upcoming books headed our way. Another wonderful book, S.J. McCoy!!!
This is the next book in Summer Lake Silver Series, this time we get to meet Dee and Lucky who are very similar in character, both are very reclusive and don’t really enjoy going out but by chance they meet thanks to Luckys dog Echo .
Echo appeared in a previous book when he stayed with Dalton, and it seems that Echo is turning into a bit of a match maker, she is quite a character who was part of the Navy Seals team that Lucky and Dalton were on.
Dee is not looking for love after various disastrous relationships, she just wants a quiet life writing her novels, but Echo has other ideas when she barges into her life with Lucky running behind her. Lucky is struggling with PTSD and doesn’t want to deal with outside life but that’s not going to stop Echo from showing him that he can have a life after all the horrors he’s been through.
As this book is set in Summer Lake you still get to enjoy some of the characters that have appeared in previous books, but this doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy the book if you haven’t read them.
Loved this book and are looking forward to the next in the series
I'm not normally a fan of dogs in romance books but I loved Echo in this one! As a veteran herself, she's protective above all else, and had so much understanding of the feelings of those around her. She pushed Lucky outside of his comfort zone and showed him that yes, he too could have a happily ever after and boy did she pick the perfect woman for him! Sounds so ridiculous saying all of this about a dog (I'm a cat person, can you tell? Haha), but just wait until you've read the story! I also loved how the author talked about PTSD in a real way, and showed that it just doesn't go away because you've found the right woman, it takes time, and work, and may never truly "go away". Overall, this is a heartfelt story of finding love when you least expect it, healing past tramas one step at a time, and that yes, there truly is someone for everyone.
Each book seems to be better and better and the story of Lucky and Dee does not disappoint.
Although in the beginning, when Dee is terrified of the wonderful Echo, I was worried that relationship between Lucky and Dee would never happen. I was glad that I was quickly wrong and once again, Echo was up to our matchmaking tricks.
I would also not be upset, if down the road, Max and Pax ended up with their own stories.
As always, it’s fun to check in with all the past characters and see how they are doing. I also look forward to reading the story about Damon in the near future. I will try to wait patiently.
Until then, Meet Me Where the Stars Fall is a great book to read.
This is the 10th book in this incredible series, and this is Lucky, Dee, and Echo’s story. Lucky is guarded and haunted, and heads to the lake for a fresh start, with his ex-military dog Echo, while Dee is an author who is at the lake for the summer. There is an instant attraction between Lucky and Dee, but on first meeting she is afraid of Echo, who has other ideas as she sees something in Dee. This is a beautifully written story which is a heartwarming, and touching, emotional roller coaster, with friendships, humor, witty banter, second chances, and love, which leads to an entertaining and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
As always SJ McCoy has lovely mix of new characters finding their way along the path to their happy ever after with lots of familiar characters from previous books set in Summer Lake making an appearance. This time the main characters were not just Dee and Lucky but also his dog Echo who is quite a character who managed to entertain and delight throughout the book helping them find their way to each other. She’s a bit of a canine fairy godmother mixed with caring companion. There are some twists and turns in the relationship to keep your attention, and some new characters making cameo appearances that may get their own books in the future most enjoyable.
Meet Me Where the Stars Fall is book 10 in the Summer Lake Silver series!!! We pick up from the last book on Taryn and Dalton finding love through the help of canine matchmaker Echo. Our favourite pet continues on her quest of bring love to all her two legged friends including her beloved owner Lucky!! Lucky meets twice divorced writer Dee through the "help" of Echo. Without a doubt Echo steals the show. Lucky's struggle with PTSd was a brave inclusion in the book. I love Dee and her no bull attitude. This unlikely pair have secured themselves as one of the Silver happy ever afters. Another great book by SJ McCoy.
I totally enjoyed Lucky and Dee's story and catching up with characters from previous books. Lucky is a POW with PTSD who has a former Seal dog Echo, who is a big part of this book. Not only is Echo Lucky's stabilizer but when she picks Dee for him everything changes. These two make such a great couple and I was pulling hard for them to get their HEA. I anxiously await the next book in the series.
Worth the wait...another good read. Lucky moved to Summer Lake near Dalton, another former Navy Seal Team member that had a close relationship with Lucky. Lucky suffered from PTSD & had the help of his canine Seal, Echo. Chancemeeting on the beach with Dee who had trauma from a prior meeting withe a canine mauling when she was but a child. Need to read their story...so heartwarming with touches of humor.
SJ McCoy, you did it again, another great book to the series. I love Dee and Lucky's story, I cannot express or explain my reasoning, it was just amazing. I love the fact that Echo was a matchmaker again in this book and helped the next couple to meet. Your books are wonderful and it keeps me hooked from beginning to end. I cannot wait for the next ones.
Enjoyed this 10th instalment in the Summer Lake Silver Series. This was Lucky and Dee’s love story and it does not disappoint. I must say that Echo, Lucky’s dog, just enhances this story even more! As always we get to catchup with old friends and meet some new ones, always my favourite part of this series 😊. Looking forward to the next in the series.
I love this book so much, I love that she wrote about PTSD and how to help treat it. Thus is an amazing author who touches your heart with each book. This is about Lucky and Dee a story of a woman who was hurt by 2 previous husbands and a man hurt by the war. They find a way to each other with a little help from lovely dog named Echo. It's a beautiful story. A great read.
Oh I just loved Lucky and Dee and I can't forget Echo because without her they never would have go together!! They are such a sweet couple and just accept each other for who they are and don't want to change each at all!! This is a much read! I would recommend this book to everyone!
I couldn’t put this book down! I loved that it portrayed a mature couple with a successful woman as one of the main characters. Both Dee and Lucky were so believably and felt like people I should now. The addition of Echo as a therapy dog was perfect, she added so much to the story.
What a great book. Knowing he has these bad dreams. Knowing he can't trust himself. But finding the right person was amazing. They were both attracted to each other. Great book. This series is awesome. ?love them all
I absolutely love this series. Dee & Lucky are great together but needed to be more open and upfront with each other. I enjoyed how all the other characters came into the story just like family. Such a wonderful read for everyone. Look forward to more in this series!
Every story in this series is special and exciting, I loved all the Echo ones just slightly more she’s a great treat. Lucky and Dee had a lot to get through to be together, especially Lucky. I love that they did make it that love won in the end. Perfect.
Great book! So glad Lucky got his happy ever after with Dee. Loved Echo! She was a great addition to the story. It was also great to be able to see others from Summer Lake.
Another wonderful story in the Summer Lakes series. I enjoyed the reading the story and finding out more of the antics that Echo orchestrates. It like she’s human, right?
