Play Therapy Book & DVD Bundle

Rate this book
This package combines Garry Landreth's bestselling textbook, Play The Art of the Relationship, 3rd Edition with a 50-minute video demonstration of Landreth working with a young girl in Child Centered Play A Clinical Session . The DVD shows Landreth in a complete, unscripted play therapy session, interrupted only by an audio commentary provided by the author himself, highlighting key moments in the session. The video, originally produced and filmed by the Play Therapy Institute, is now offered in this special training set at a substantial savings over the combined retail price of the book and DVD if purchased individually. Additional student and instructor activities and exercises have also been developed specifically for this package, tying the book and video content together even more, in order to make this a unique and dynamic learning tool.

"The toys are their words and the play is their language." This was a textbook used in the play therapy class at the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, AL. It describes everything a registered play therapist needs in order to perform successful therapeutic treatment with young children. It is written in an easy to understand language that all future clinicians and veteran clinicians alike are able to read and understand what Dr. Landreth is writing. I look forward to reading more about child-centered play therapy and even the art and dynamics of other types of play therapy from Dr. Landreth.

This was truly SO helpful as a counseling student interning at a site that does a lot of play therapy. All of the examples of how to speak to children in session and what to do in different situations helped me feel more prepared and comfortable for my next CCPT sessions. The only thing I would’ve added is I would’ve loved a chapter on directive play therapy.
