A clear, direct and comprehensible examination of how various learning theories apply to online learning, including a historical perspective on the evolution of their application to previous generations of online learning approaches. The author examines behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism, and expounds on Online Collaborative Learning theroy as a new approach suited to modern online learning environments. This book will provide a good grounding for anyone wanting to quickly understand the basics of this theoretical environment, and its second half could help instructors or administrators face course design or institutional design challenges.
