I thought I had it all. She showed me just how wrong I was…
Being a cocky, playboy, billionaire doctor is every bit as amazing as you’d expect. Or, itwas, at least. Until I met her.
Dr. Mikayla Smith is everything I’m not—sassy, sunshiny, and idealistic. She’s also a much-younger resident at my hospital, which means she’s forbidden fruit. I should’ve left her alone.
But I didn’t.
Now, there’s no going back. I found something I never knew I wanted, and it’s as addictive as it is terrifying. Could it be…love?
It’s hard for me to say. What I’ve seen of romance and marriage isn’t exactly healthy.
What I do know is that my family—old money to the bone—won’t accept my Mickie. Being with her could cost me everything.
All I need to figure out is if any of itisworth having without her…
Dr. Aster is is a spicy contemporary romance featuring an alpha billionaire/reformed player, and the feisty free spirit who steals his heart. Sexy times are definitely included, and a happily ever after is guaranteed as with all of the books in the Billionaires’ Club Series. Dr. Aster can also be read as a stand-alone and in any order from the rest of the books in the Billionaires’ Club.
Raylin Marks is the author of steamy romance and fun adventures!! Her love and passion for writing is purely driven to help introduce readers to characters and fun worlds to get lost in with hot alpha males that make even Raylin swoon as she writes them. Marks stepped into the publishing world with her debut Reverse Harem series: Immortal Devotion. She moved from there into a different steamy genre and wrote Chase’s story in a stand-alone book titled: Needing Chase. After Chase, Raylin decided to finally let these “Billionaires” start having their voice. In July 2020, the first book in her Billionaires’ Club series was released: Dr. Mitchell. She’s excited to continue on through the lives of the rest of these men. Let’s hope her laptop can hang while she continues on her journey of writing and publishing.
He took her to his brother’s wedding in Monaco, knowing his parents were going to treat her horribly, and then when she texted him to tell him she was going back home, he responded with ‘okay, thanks’. Thanks?! THANKS?! He then changed his number and disappeared for months despite still being in a relationship with her and also being a literal cancer doctor, which meant that he abandoned all his patients. Anyways, after deciding he wanted to go back to her and his job, he was rehired instantly. She also forgave him within a week and she proposed to him a month later. Putting the slightly untraditional gender roles aside, they literally dated for 3 months, then he disappeared off the face of the earth for 6 months, and after only 1 month you feel comfortable getting engaged? You’ve spent more time apart than together! To make matters even worse, he never properly apologized to her and when his friend suggested that he should apologize and grovel, he expressed how horrified he was by the mere idea of saying sorry and doing any level of grovelling. All in all, I’d personally rather marry a frat boy. At least a frat boy would have more maturity.

Have loved almost this entire series but this one fell kinda flat for me. The character development was less deep than her other characters in this universe. Dr aster just doesn’t make a lot of sense. Also, he’s not even really friends with the rest of the billionaires so not sure how he got roped in as part of the series.
I’m a bit apathetic about this one. It’s one of my least favorite out of the bunch, but you have to take into account how many books there are in the series. There have been a bunch of different storylines and tropes, so there was bound to be at least one that didn’t completely resonate with me. I’ve loved this series so much, but this one just didn’t match the energy for me.
Although it was by design, Dr. Aster feels the most out of place in this friend group of powerful men. He’s on the outskirts of the group because he doesn’t want to be part of their world. Which is his hurdle to overcome, but it took so long for it to happen that I felt like I was missing out on the fun friendship dynamic the others have. This book really lacked the camaraderie that the previous books made me fall in love with the series. It felt like more of a spin-off than a continuation of a series.
At the end of the day, it sucked a bit of the joy out of this book for me. John and Mickie were lovely characters, but they’re deep thinkers. I found myself rolling my eyes at a lot of what they said. It was very repetitive at times. They spent the entire book worrying about things that didn’t matter, and it made the bulk of the book feel a little too long. Then when it finally reached the end, it wrapped up far too quickly.
The relationship between the doctors is sickly cute when you subtract all the familial drama that ensues. So it’s definitely worth a read if you like friends to lovers. He’s obsessed with her from day one. She doesn’t want to give him the time of day but he’s too charming to resist. This led to some really fun banter. Although this one wasn’t a hit for me, I’m still very interested to see what unfolds with Dr. Aster’s older brother in the next book.
First.. I am so happy that Raylin is back. I have missed her books and the Billionaire’s Club men. So happy (upcoming) release day!
Now, it is Dr. Aster’s time to have his life exposed..lol John is a Doctor at the same hospital that our favorite Billionaire boys work. Yes he is a trust fund baby and has grown up in the life of luxury but he wants more out of life. He can’t stand the pomp and circumstance that surrounds his family and tries to steer clear of it at all cost. He makes a good living, as a Doctor, on his own and is proud of what he has accomplished. But that has come with a price. As the baby of 3 boys, John has always pushed to do things his way and has gotten away with most of it because his older brothers kept their parents at bay and satisfied; or so he thought. But the pull from family is great and he will be faced with the challenge of a lifetime in his future.
Mickie is starting at the hospital and as a resident is thrilled to be working along side the infamous Dr. Aster. He is kind, gorgeous, fun, and brilliant. The gorgeous part she will have to fight hard to ignore energy single day. She has no place in her life for any kind of relationship, much less the playboy doctor she works with. But Mickie underestimates John’s charisma and good hearted nature. As she gets to know him, he is impossible to ignore. Worst of all, or best of all, John has his eyes set on Mickie and he is determined to get her to go out with him.
Their story starts and it becomes a whirlwind. Both of them are smitten and as slow as they each claim they want to go, in reality they are full speed ahead on an open highway. But life has a funny way of interjecting itself. When the time comes and Mickie gets the chance to see how John was raised and meet the family, things aren’t always as they seem. They both have some lessons they need to learn.
Like the rest of the series, which I highly recommend, this is just as great. You do not have to read beforehand however it will provide a bit of backstory of some characters. Love John from the beginning and love his playful demeanor and the joyous environment he wants to create in the work environment. A lot of people could learn from this. Love the banter between John and Mickie which ultimately leads to their amazing and smoking chemistry. I felt so sorry for John and hated his family. I wanted major revenge lol. But seriously, I could not put this down and it kept me up many many hours at night. Clearly I loved and highly recommend.
I was really bummed at the stakes in this. The ending was not believable. Like the last 1/5th was... Just not it.
I checked this book out, read half of it, and was unable to renew it because of the demand - so I waited... Three months to finish it. I got halfway through and almost buckled and purchased this book when I couldn't renew. I am so glad I didn't.

-the mmc was in love like the whole time. Great. Cool. Not a problem. Love that. However! He was making the same promises he broke in the first act in the second act. Same lines. Why am I supposed to believe him this time? Long story short: he didn't redeem himself in a believable or acceptable way.
-mmc's family cannot have made the 180 they did based on the death of a daughter-in-law. Absolutely not. Basically the time we talked to mmc's father in Monocco set the tone that the parents made their children believe they were loved and that the parents used this construct of love charade to control their children. "oh! See how we loved you? You were loved, so we are only showing you our love in this controlling way and destructive erasure and molding. And that's because you are loved." no way do they flip that narrative in 1 yr. Sure, they lose all their children in the same span of time, but in their construct of love - I think the love was only for the projection of themselves on their children as tools. And tools don't become humans in a yr. Nope. No way.
-"I'm not giving him a chance and let me show him by inviting him to my family's 4th of July gathering" - no.
Dr John Aster a Oncology OBGYN specialist working in St John's Hospital which is Dr John dream and to have a piece of pride and independence from his family Aster wealth and power that come with it being the youngest of his brothers can sometimes get away with not always being prefect. With his family being who they are and the old money that demands certain ways puts pressure. Until one of his points in the list of dos and donts and breaks it when he set eyes on Dr Smith.
Meet Dr Mikayala Smith absolutely thrilled to be doing her residency at St John's Hospital after getting a place in OBGYN and looked forward to the future . Until she happens to stumble in a club and met a certain hot swoon worthy handsome guy who pretend to be with her in front of her ex fiance and the story begins .
Absolutely loving the series and Absolutely love the characters highly recommended reading laughter, witty and emotional rollercoaster enjoy the series
While I love each, and every one of these books, this one was long and kind of repetitive. The story was predictable as they continuously told us what was going to happen the whole time. The only curveball was what happened to Sebastian at the end, which is setting up his story, which will be both devastating and beautiful I’m sure. The spice was amped up in this book, but could use a little more detail I think it was glossed over a bit. I like that all of our favorites were in this book a lot, and to see Ash healthy. The use of “my ass” is still in full effect 😂 And no billionaire or billionaires wife uses an Uber, poor girl, Margot would have been devastated twice over that.
My only wish with this 7th installment of the Billionaires' Club Series is that, like those before, we had had an introduction into the characters that were coming. Other than that, it's a solid 5 stars from me with a wish for another book for each couple 10 to 20 years into the future as they face being parents to teenagers.... "The Club" would be hysterical in their banter and shenanigans as well as amazing couples and parents
I absolutely love the Billionaire’s Club Series. I didn’t want this book to end. I really enjoyed how Raylin brought John and Mikayla through trials to find their true love. I couldn’t put this book down and I’m excited to see which Aster gets their book next I’m hoping for Mark but after the tragedy Sebastian suffered I’d love for him to follow in John’s footsteps and find love again.
When Dr. John Aster meets new resident Dr. Mikala Smith at St. John’s sparks fly. Not too long into their budding relationship, however, we learn about the Aster family and events begin to go very wrong for John & Mikala. Appearances by the other billionaire crowd members present a sad diagnosis for Ashley, and the story takes another downturn. But, as we know, Raylin knows to give a solid tearjerker, and then the gloom clears. Whew!
Absolutely love the series. John and Mickie's story is great, charming beautiful and emotional. But true love prevails in the end. I only hated had to wait so long for it to come out but understand. Only now have to wait until February to read book 8. I am sure it will be worth the wait.
The book is tiresome. I tried but I could not stay interested which is unfortunate because the previous books in the serie were amazing. John was too needy and Mickie was super annoying. There were time during my reading where my mind wondered away from the book because it became boring.
I feel myself in the female characters in their roles on the love/hate scenarios.
If I could relive my 20/30's I think I would have made some other decisions on where I would live ,schooling choices, finances and work. Back in my high school days girls are not encouraged to seek out education and move away from their parents.
35% into the book…FMC is a total bitch, snippy comments, just so rude to John. Hopefully she becomes less bitchy soon. I’m sure John will do something later in the book where he would deserve her attitude, but so far he hasn’t done anything to deserve it, which is making me dislike FMC up to this point.
Oh Dr. Aster and the Billionaire Club books by Raylin Marks has my heart! Raylin Marks can do no wrong with these books! Every. Single. Book. Is. Perfection. For a seventh book in a series, Dr. Aster brings in new storylines and characters, but we also get to read more about our OG beloved characters that started the club! Love love loved this book!
This author is one of my faves so I don’t know why this book was so hard to finish, but I just wasn’t as interested in the story as I have been the other books before. I am going to read Mr. Astor and I’m excited for that, but this one just kind of dragged I don’t know why. I’m sure it’s me because I’ve loved all her other books.
super similar to the other books in the series. billionaire dr. ML who falls for new colleague dr. FL. not as dramatic or heart wrenching with the 3rd act breakup since the 2 of them dont even have a proper breakup. i liked her family and the peek into what the rest of the other couples have been up to.

Really enjoyed this, easy read. Great to see the other characters from previous books, would have liked a bit more or a little bonus at the end, but still amazing read I can’t wait for Mr Aster. Well done Raylin Marks.
I just loved this book. Loved the way John fell in love with Micky and he was not afraid of declaring it from the beggining. He was genuine in his feelings and the story was just how it was supose to be.
With this series, Raylin Marks has become my favorite author. This is a group of billionaire professionals. Heartwarming, steamy scenes, solid story line with a surprising trist I did not see coming
John and Mickie's love story is flirty, funny and full of finery and fiascos. Get ready for medical procedures, camping adventures, romantic dates, jealousy, wealth and opulence, passion, status shaming, coercion and second chances.
Thank you for this love story. The writer is an inspiration and a role model. The book was a full five. The story, the funny parts, the dialog was perfect. Stay classy and write on. Best wishes
Repetitive, repetitive, repetitive! Please Doctor Aster, quit whining. How many times do we need to hear you are not a poor little rich boy, when that is exactly what you are. The book could lose 40% of its content while not losing any of the storyline.
4.75⭐️ I enjoyed this book so much! The times I caught myself cackling at the funny lines, nicknames, and the Uber ride to the ER. Despite his family being awful, I'm so happy they were able to get through their hard times and a HEA!
He’s a very accomplished Drthat still lets his parent run his life He should have figured this out years ago and separated from this toxic situation She has her own problems and should have realized his commitment to her wasn’t sincere Not my favorite book by this author

Another long awaited book from this series. Looking forward to the next. The only complaint that I had was the MMC. Who is almost 40 seemed immature on so many levels.
