This book is very informative. I checked it out at my local library and kept it for the three week maximum. I waited and checked it out again the next week! I am currently trying out the regimen she suggested in the book

I got to waist length, and reading this book helped. Now, I still refer back to it if I experience dry hair or need any tweaks to my regimen. This book has been in my library for years, and I still refer to it!

A very informative, measured approach to Black hair care for women. My only complaint (which resulted in my giving this 4 stars instead of 5) is that the author speaks of a 7-week program that is never clearly outlined. The assumption is that it is a running theme throughout the book, but the author references to detailing the program "later" in the book which never really happens.

Overall, the book is a must-read by all Black women, and I'm surprised it hasn't been more popular.

It had good information about pH balance and sulfates in shampoos.
