Rainbow Street Shelter #6

DISCOVERED! A Beagle Called Bella

Rate this book
From the moment she's born, the adorable beagle puppy named Bella has a lot of energy. She runs, she chases, she somersaults, she chews, and she sniffs . . . and sniffs and sniffs and sniffs. Her new owners love her, but they soon realize that Bella is bored while they're out of the house all day, and that their small apartment might not be the best home for an energetic puppy.

Luckily, Mona at the Rainbow Street Shelter can help! She keeps an eye out for the perfect place for Bella, and soon she finds her not just a home but a job—the best job in the world for a dog who loves to sniff.

I’m an author, but I could never have started writing books if I hadn’t loved reading them first. Reading isn’t just one of my favourite things to do; it’s one of the most important things in my life. I can’t imagine a world in which I couldn’t read, every day. That’s why I always read to my children every day, just as my parents used to read to me. Stories can be exciting, sad, funny, scary or comforting, but the most amazing thing about them is that they take us into new worlds and teach us something more about ourselves, all at the same time.

This series is very popular with our 3rd and 4th graders, and each one I've read has been very sweet and accessible for a range of readers. The idea of each in the series is finding a match for an animal at the shelter. So sweet.

Although I was a but peeved that Bella was taken to the shelter, they dud the right thing. Matt, Tim and Sherlock will be positive company for Bella.

For grades 2-5, this is a large print, beginning chapter book. I think the puppy makes an appealing character for kids. Hopefully, they will find the story more interesting than I did. Black and white illustrations every few pages.

Bella the beagle needs a new home - the apartment where she lives is too small for such an energetic dog. Mona and her friends at Rainbow Animal Shelter set out to find the perfect home for this fun-loving pup.
