Bianca King is living the golden life in metro Georgia with a booming veterinary practice and a steady string of dates--until her somewhat estranged father asks for her help in keeping the family ranch afloat. When Bianca returns to her small South Carolina hometown, she meets the latest threat, neighboring rancher Kahron Strong, a man with knowing eyes and the body of a gladiator. But this competition may just do Bianca some good. . .
. . .He's Rugged On The Ranch
Ever ambitious, Kahron has his eye on the Kings' ranch--among other things. Bianca rejects his offer to buy, but he's not one to take no for an answer, even if it comes from the sexiest lips he's never kissed. But when a series of dangerous accidents puts the business and Bianca at risk, Kahron decides the auburn beauty is much more valuable than her land. As they come together to track the source of the trouble, Bianca will have to surrender her resolve and her heart to save the ranch. . .and something she cares about even more.

Oh Yeah! This awesome story proves that not everyone who smiles in your face is your friend. Lots of deceit, betrayal and back-stabbing in this one.
Accomplished Veterinarian, Dr. Bianca King, has to return to help her foolish father save the family ranch. But her young stepmother, the town slut, and Kahron Strong, the next door rancher/neighbor, have other plans for her father's land. And it appears they don't mind stealing, kidnapping, or burning down barns to get what they want. But things are not always what they seem.
Hot and Steamy!! I really enjoyed this book it kept my attention from beginning to the end, I loved the playfulness and openness between Kahron and Bianca.
The only thing that I would change which most authors fail to do is to match the people on the cover with the actual characters in the book, it may sound minor but it truly makes a big difference, at least for me it does. But in all this was still a great start to this series...On to the next book in this series...:-)) Happy Reading!!
A quick and okay read. Too easy to solve the "mystery" to really take seriously. Likable characters save the book, but if you're looking for something really thought provoking you may be disappointed.
I really enjoyed this book. Makes me want a silver fox all for myself. I love how the child had to come to the parents rescue, it was a nice reversal of life. I have to say though, that it was a dead giveaway regarding who the culprit was, I think it could have been more cleverly disguised. And hold one to your socks, there is a sex scene that is a whole chapter long, and certainly worth the length! Off to read the 2nd book in the series.
I decided to revisit this book I read years ago and I still love it. It could use some updating because it was hard to separate the scenes but it’s still good. I remember reading it when I first discovered black romance authors and I was so excited. This was a true oldie but goodie for me. I love the Strong family.
The first half, about 100 pages in, I did not care for the novel. However, I am glad I went ahead and finished the novel today. I started around 11 PM last night and at work during a break, I was able to finish the reading. Therefore, I was able to complete in 1-2 sittings. I have not done this in a long time.
Although it was the first time reading this author, I can say this was easy to get through but just an okay read for me and a little predictable. I knew the gold-digger had something to do with it but wanted to get clarification why she did it and with whom; the two men were hardly mentioned which seemed weird to see their names come up later.
The author has a individual imagination. The story had suspense, betrayal and pure evil in addition to romance. I enjoyed the characters and their interactions from the highway to the relationship.
The harmony and order of the story was confusing. Combine the awful grammar, syntax, misused homonyms made an excellent story mediocre. Suggest that the editor be replaced!
A sweet read for a Saturday evening. Ticks all the boxes for why I love romance novels #escapism. Lovely chemistry between Bianca and Karhon. Mix romance and ranchers and you get sizzling hot. Nice work by this author
This is my first time reading this author. I like the uniqueness of the storyline to this novel but there were so many editing errors. I’m hoping that the series gets better with that as I keep reading.
The formatting gave me an actual headache and it took me a few days to power through. Romance is formulaic, so I didn’t mind the predictability. I’m shocked that this was traditionally published with all of the regional talk and pop culture references. Kudos to Niobia Bryant.
I love Nobia and her love stories. This one was a quicker read and kept me glued in until I found out what was going to happen. I love how it was a family and live story. If you love romance, family, and suspense this is the book.
This is a wonderful book. I truly enjoyed the twists and turns in the storyline, yet I already had an idea of who was involved. I highly recommend this book. It was an easy and very good read. Now I have to read the next one ASAP! Great story Niobia Bryant!
I liked how they met, how close they became but good shenanigans stared and you won't be able to put the book down. I was surprised to learn it was someone close to the family who was supposed to be close to you.
I purchased this on Kindle as I had it previously on my nook. I'm disappointed in the format and editing but I do love the Strong family. Despite the errors it is still a good read.
Okay, I'm a fan of Ms. Niobia Bryant. And once again she has turned up the heat in another one of her romances. However, I thought some of the foul language was a little over the top and the dirty talk took away from the sensual romantic flow of the story, I guess I just wasn't expecting it so soon in the romance. And I was totally put out when Bianca flipped Kahron the bird, after the shower scene, what was that about?!! However, the book was still a page turner, filled with HOT & STEAMY love scenes, betrayal and a thrilling little suspense. And Ms. Bryant once again spun a engaging tale. Within this tale she also touched on the very serious issue of alcholism and handled it brilliantly. Her characters were quite memorable and had me LOL, quite often. I enjoyed the fact that Kahron and Bianca were mutually attracted to each other, and neither fought that attraction. They knew they wanted each other and jumped in with both feet. And even though the sex was good, their relationship was based on more than just sex. While getting to know each other, they actually discovered that they had a lot in common outside of the bedroom, and each had a certain amount of pride and respect in the others accomplishments. So, despite the foul language, the off the wall dirty talk and some grammatical errors, it was still an enjoyable romance. Definitely looking forward to reading more about the Strong family and Holtsville.
For once you can judge the book by the cover, or should I say title. This book was indeed heated! Before reading this novel, I suggest you have a fan or an air conditioned room ready because the heat from this sizzling romance burns right off the pages. I was not ready for the intense love and passion between these two characters. However if you're not looking for a simple boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love story then this one's not for you. But if you're looking for a fun quick read, that packs a powerful sexual punch then enjoy!
The only cons were the grammatical errors; there are too many to point out and for that her editor should be fired! Seriously.
This was more of a 4.5 star rating because of the multiple word mis-order/misuse/misspelled and other issues. The full chapter love scene made up for this inconvenience.
Bianca King left home to make a better life for herself and to fill the dreams of her heart, but when daddy called she went back. Back at home she finds a lot more than she was bargaining for.
Kahron Strong wanted her father's land and he found a lot more. Together they find each other and much more.
A romance story. Slightly mushy. Slightly predictable. Slightly typical. I'm not a fan of the genre but a fan of the author so I thought I'd take a chance.
Bianca left home after her father withdrew from her when her mother died. One call from him however has her returning home to help save his ranch.
The story was a little corny and dared to ask if you're being hypocritical if you don't hold your friends to the same standard of your family.
Extremely entertaining. I found this romance novel slightly addictive...who wouldn't love Kahron Strong? Of course, the ranch/cowboy thing is a little played out now. But the book discusses alcoholism, familial relationships, what keeps couples strong, what breaks couples, gold digging and some more, yet somehow it all fits without seeming like a bad Tyler Perry movie. I recommend this book, it's an easy and intriguing read.
I really enjoyed reading this story it had everything love, passion, mystery, laughter. Bianca and Sharon were a joy and a pleasure to get to know. I look forward to reading more about the Strong family. Ms Bryant really went all out with this one hope the rest of the series is just as good
LOVED IT!!!!! This book had me craving the next one.... I loved the plot and also the way the author describes everyone with such detail. Makes you feel like you can see them right in front of your face.
I always love books that keep me turning pages into the wee hours of the morning & Heated was it, I just had to know the fate of Kahron & Bianca... I felt their immediate attraction from the being. This is my 1st read by Niobia Bryant and looking forward to more.
Enjoyed the book, however, the typos and the format made reading it kinda tiresome. The characters rocked and I'm gonna try book two, hopefully the typos won't be so numerous and the reading will be easier.
