This is easily the best book out there on Sean Scully. Carrier seamlessly weaves incredibly precise insights on Scully's artistic process together with an intimate view of what makes Scully tick as an artist. This is a remarkable book on one of the most important artists working today. It's a must-read for anyone interested in contemporary abstract painting.

I sought out this book but I didn’t enjoy it nearly as much as I thought I would. It all comes down to what is considered art and what is appealing to one vs another.

Great book with essays that reveal SS painting process. Love it and refer to it often. The choice of paintings are also to die for.
