Be Quiet!

Rate this book

A sleeping boy, a rambunctious dog. A napping dog, a boisterous cat.
Animals of all sorts parade across the page never able to agree on when it's time to be loud or when it's time to sleep.

A cute and interactive picture book for children 3-6 to learn rhythm, practice speech and just be LOUD!
Great picture book for teachers working with speech.

An important lesson for all children to learn, there is a time and place for being quiet and a time and place when it is okay to be LOUD!!

Be Quiet is a simple picture book with a great message. There are even interactive portions where kids can be prompted to be loud and yell and times when they will be quiet. This is great for schools to discuss inside voices and outside voices, but also a great bedtime story too. This would be a great book to read to older siblings when a younger sibling is taking a nap or going down for the night.

There are also speech components in there and the book description even mentions how this book can be used to practice speech. It is a great purposeful outlet for noise. Great for counselors offices too when working with children who may have a hard time with impulse control.

Thank you for a free copy of this book review. Opinions expressed are my own.
This is a super cute, super short story. While it does seem best suited as a bedtime story to get kids to quiet down and go to sleep, it could be used in the pK-2nd grade classroom. It has a patterned text quality in which kids can predict what comes next and chime in to read with you. It also incorporates animal sounds and an invitation from the characters to be loud...for a moment. Then settle down and go to sleep. This would be great in the classroom for predictive text, sounds in writing, noise level expectations, etc. Very cute and simple. Love the mouse ending :)

I loved this book and it is perfect for young children, we actually read the book as soon as it came down to my Kindle as it sounded a fun read - and it was!

I thought that this book was fun and it was well laid out and we did a mini drum roll as we turned over the pages to get to the next part to guess what was coming

It was nice, bright and attractive too and my five year old daughter loved it as the simple words used meant she was able to read the majority of the book to me too

It is 5 stars from me for this one – very highly recommended!

J Donnini's Be Quiet is a short, straightforward story for young readers. The illustrations are in the style of Eric Carole. This would be a great book to use with toddlers to reinforce animal sounds or the "treat others as you would like to be treated" rule. The book seemed to abruptly shift from individual animals being loud to everyone being loud together. My daughter liked it when the book encouraged the reader to participate as well. Overall, I thought this was a cute, quick read.

Thank you so much to J. Donnini and Netgalley for giving me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.
Be quiet is a funny book that will make the kids learn and imitate the animals for quite a long time (poor parents!)
The drawings were cute and it's a book that kids will want to reread.
And hopefully learn not to make noise while others are sleeping!

A fun picture book for young readers. Be Quiet! helps children understand when it’s appropriate to be quiet, and when its acceptable to be LOUD!

I did enjoy this, but I loathe loudness so I personally wouldn’t read it to my stepson, but I would absolutely by this for my niece and nephew, haha.

Thanks to Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for the opportunity to read and review this title.

There's a time to be quiet and a time to be LOUD in this fun, interactive picture book perfect for young readers. The text and story are simple with a fun surprise at the end. The illustrations are bright and appealing. This book would work especially well for toddlers and preschoolers who are learning about volume control and also enjoy the fun of just being loud!

Thanks to Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for a free digital copy.

A cute book about how when noise it made it always affects someone. I found it pretty pointless though. It just ended with no real lesson or conclusion.

I got this on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!

This was a fun picture book about being quiet and making noise! Especially loved the "now we can make noise together" page! I think a lot of kids would find this hilarious!

This was a cute way to show kids that grown ups aren't the only ones wanting quiet time. I loved all the little creatures requesting quiet from others.
