You have to love a book that has brothers in it. Without spoiling the fun for anyone else I will say that I would’ve liked to have read the other two books first. That being said Breathless is still great as a stand-alone, just pay attention to the little things so you don’t get lost partway through the book. I loved Cal and the way he describes things has sometimes had me in hysterics. And Tori grew on me as the story developed. There is plenty of action and smut to keep things entertaining and some witty banter to break up the serious undertones in the plot, my favourite character is Tess, read the book to find out why!! This will be an excellent addition to anyone’s library.

This book was amazing!!!
I just finished reading and I am absolutely in love! From the very first page, I was drawn into this world. The author’s writing style is captivating, making it impossible to put the book down.

The character development is truly exceptional. I found myself emotionally invested in Cal and Tori and their journey, experiencing every high and low with them.

Make sure you read the Trigger/Content warnings <3

My first thoughts of this book were “who hurt you.” It starts out with gut wrenching trauma moments, that’s excellent at explaining the characters in the story. Lots of different characters are introduced through the first half of the book, further explaining the story line. It starts off with a slow burn but picks up speed towards the middle making it hard to put the book down.
The plots twists are completely unexpected, will having you saying “wtf?” and 🤌 “chefs kiss” all at the same time. Cal and Tori are absolutely feral about each other, but at the same time they are so self loathing, due to prior traumatic experiences.

“Baby, you could have a full bush, and I’d still be down on my knees worshipping you.”

“Tattoos are like Pokémon. Once you get one you gotta get them all, or however the line goes.”

Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is my first time reading a book by Chrystal Miller and I can guarantee it won’t be the last either. This is the third book in the Lakewood series. This book had me from the first page. I knew I had to read this book as fast as I could!
I loved this book so much! It was dark, depraved and twisted in the best possible way. This book not only shows the FMC and MMC POVs (point of views), it also shows the POVs of some of the other characters. I loved seeing into the minds of the other characters. We get to experience their emotions and their state of minds.
Thank you, Chrystal Miller for such an amazing read! I need to add the Lakeland series to my TBR. I also hope that some of the characters get their own story soon!

Book 3 in the Lakewood Series... was AMAZING!!! OMG the chokehold I was in while reading this, I could not put it down! The plot twists were insane, the heart wrenching trauma moments, the way Cal and Tori were feral for each other was 😩. I would rate the spice at a 3. But the book in general is definitely 5 stars.

Absolutely loved it. Ending felt a little rushed but everything else made for a great story. Always love sassy tess. Missed Mia and Jesse in this one but don't worry the rest of the gang is all there. No one tops Kia's mom. She is always waiting to be the wisest. The story was great. It's definitely dark and gritty. I look forward to the next book.
