I think Jacob is one of the most fascinating people of the Bible. Most people recall the initial events in Jacob's story, but I think the most interesting part is all the things that happen after he leaves home, from the night we are told about, on through the history of his legacy. This book includes a lot after Jacob departed from Laban that is interesting, but I still want to cross reference with other sources and the Bible. The author chides Jacob's actions in many instances, and I think that takes something away from this book. The author makes it seem like he wouldn't have had the same problems Jacob had if he had been in his shoes.
