Finding a new story from Sinistre Ange is always a treat.
And i know i’m going to enjoy the ARC of Calling Her Bluff.
It’s the first in the series,and it introduces Allison,a 21 year old girl feeling stifled by her parents expectations of her.
Always having to be the “good girl”,always doing what they want and being with “approved” friends.
Her future will probably be marrying an “approved” boy with a fabulous background,and staying at home,baring his children.
If only Todd was that guy.....
She’s seen him on campus,and she’d love it if he did the dirty things she’s fantasized about.
Until one day,he askes her out for a drink,and she accepts.
One thing leads to another,and before she knows it,she’s lost one drunken pokergame too many.
26 year old Todd is intrigued by the “good girl” he keeps running into on campus,and knows there’s more to her “teasing” the boys.

All sex all the time. Varied and spicy, with all sorts of combinations and locations. She shares her desires, and he makes them come true, though not always as she intended. Not much plot here, and the budding romance is put on hold at the end.
Note that there is some dub-con that gets very close to non-con, so if that is a trigger, then you might pass. This made me pause once or twice, but there was also a scene where she said Stop and he listened.
I might read the next one when I'm in the mood for non-stop sex.

I'm a huge fan of Sinistre Ange's work and have been since I discovered her. This story has more of a psychological journey from a woman who has been taught in a very judgmental environment. Losing a bet causes consequences she's been fantasizing about to become her reality. It was definitely a concept that kept my interest and the characters pulled me in and kept me wanting to see what happens next.

I got this for free on stuff my kindle day without having any idea what it was like, turns out it’s just straight up porn. Not a whole lot of plot and a lot of grammar and spelling mistakes which is a pet peeve but a quick read and it was free🤷🏼♀️

If you are looking for a steamy (self) pleasurable read this has a better standard of writing than a lot of the other soft porn books out there. That's not to say the writing is good - it was nowhere near the standard of the author's later books (this was her first book, originally published as Forced Bet by Golden Angel), but it was readable. I was disappointed by the number of editing errors I encountered, particularly as this book has been revised/ re-released at least twice. For me to recall that there were extra words and missed words it happened far too often.
In terms of storyline, this is a book of "naughty girl" fantasies. It is fast paced, hot and deliciously dirty. It won't win any literary prizes but it's good as spank bank material.

Hmmm…surprised at the low average rating. I thought this was a fun escape. Kinky fairytale in some ways. I’m glad I knew it was the first in a series so I wasn’t disappointed or surprised by the ending (or lack of rather). This story was well thought out and creative. It kept you on the edge of your seat. Todd was magnetic and Allison sure went for it. I liked the plot, premise and storytelling but it did need some proofreading. Lots and lots of it, to be honest. Allison could use a bit more characterization. Aside from her sexual adventures, she’s a bit boring. I will continue the series and hope for the best.

I read this before when it was released as the first book in the Poker Loser Trilogy. It’s an absolute favourite of mine and a reread is absolutely worth it!

Smutt was great writting style sucked
The smutt pushes the limits and is honestly really good. The writing style is like a 3rd graders. You had no clue where she stopped talking and he was talking super annoying to high hell. And leaves on. "Clif hanger" it is not even 200 pages it easily could have been 2 books in one. It would be 1 star but the smutt is that good.

No plot? Fine.
Dubious and non-consenual? Eh, okay.
But girlies the writing is just so bad and derivative. I tried to convince myself it was only < 200 pg so just get through it, but she lost me at "his tongue practically raped her mouth".. really?

Sometimes I'm conflicted about giving a book 1 star. It's difficult to get all the words on the page and then proceed to publish a book. I admire this Sinistre Ange for putting this out there. But as a book rating goes, it deserves 1 star. I didn't even make it a quarter of the way.
We have your basic rich blonde girl who must maintain a good girl persona for her CEO father. Allison secretly holds a crush on a low class frat boy Todd who could bring out her wild side and ruin her reputation.
This book could have been decent if it had a few more revisions and an editor:
1. The point of view constantly changes, even in the middle of a sentence. There is zero consistency. Two sentences it's Allison's point of view, the next sentence is Todd. It causes the characters to be blurred and I never know who is feeling what or who's head I'm supposed to be in.
2. There is no plot. This book is seriously just jumping from one spicy scene to the next.
3. There is zero character backstory or development. Todd is supposed to have a rough upbringing, but we get absolutely nothing. Allison is as shallow as can be with no background other than being the daughter of a wealthy and famous CEO. These two had a freaking date where she asked him questions about anything and everything, but the Ange gives us NOTHING.
4. The humiliation kink is just poorly done, almost disgusting. Or many this one is purely my opinion and not what I prefer in my spicy books.

I missed this salacious story the first time around. I am so delighted I had a second chance. Allison has been stifled and smothered her whole life. Her parents' top priority was not what their daughter wanted, but what they wanted. They are so self-absorbed they do not realize Allison is a grown woman with her own needs.
When she sees Todd at the college, she is drawn to his smoldering bad boy vibes and sexual aura. Todd finds Allison fascinating and knows she has secrets and desires. When they are alone, Todd says "Tell me what you want". Allison has never felt so free after the chains on her inhibitions are broken.
But their bubble bursts as they realize they are going to be oceans apart, literally when Allison finds out he is leaving. I hope that changes in the next book "Forcing Her Hand".

This is book 1 in a 3 book series, so keep that in mind if you are reading and expect your HEA. This book has Alison, a young woman from a privileged background and Todd, an older student from a working class background. Through a series of events, Alison agrees to a bet, which leads to her agreeing to 5 dates with Todd, during which they explore all the things that intrigue Alison, but which she has grown up believing that good girls shouldn't want. I really enjoyed the premise and the characters in this story. Some of the events did push my comfort level. Having read a number of more current books from this author, it's easy to tell that this is an earlier work, the writing and proofing aren't as sharp. However, overcome that and you'll have an engrossing read.

Definitely sensual, and absolutely emotional. Todd “forces” her into multiple “dates”. While it does push her boundaries, Todd also “checks in” with her, and goes through much effort for her.
This is stupendous. Gritty and fabulous.
This is part #1 of 3. Fortunately, we only need to wait a week between stories…. Can’t wait for more!!

4.5⭐️ I went into this blind and was so pleasantly surprised! Allison has high expectations from her parents to live a certain way. She’s always projecting the “good girl” image, but deep down, she craves something more. She forces herself to cross paths with Todd, a definite bad boy, until he notices her. Once he does, he decides to give in to her every fantasy.
This was crazy hot 🥵 Todd literally makes all of Allison’s fantasies come true, and maybe loses his heart along the way. This was so fun to read but be prepared to read the next one! This ends in a not too dramatic cliffy, but not quite a HEA (yet).

I went in with low expectations but was surprised by how much I liked the story. It held my attention and the only reason I didn't finish it sooner is because I had to be an adult and put the book down. The ending caught me off guard and I will be reading the rest of the series. I need to know what happens between Todd and Allison!!
