Making Sense of Factor The Use of Factor Analysis for Instrument Development in Health Care Research presents a straightforward explanation of the complex statistical procedures involved in factor analysis. Authors Marjorie A. Pett, Nancy M. Lackey, and John J. Sullivan provide a step-by-step approach to analyzing data using statistical computer packages like SPSS and SAS. Emphasizing the interrelationship between factor analysis and test construction, the authors examine numerous practical and theoretical decisions that must be made to efficiently run and accurately interpret the outcomes of these sophisticated computer programs.
This is an excellent book about factor analysis. The authors do an exceptional job explaining complex statistical procedures for those who are afraid of statistics as well as for those of us who understand them. I found it to be a great read that helped me to have a much better understanding of survey development and the steps to take to determine reliability and validity.
Phenomenal, easy to understand book that discusses exploratory factor analysis and principal component analysis. Clear, labelled figures and tables are included. This is not "stats" speak, but real, understandable language. Highly recommend.
