Rate this book
Maps provide a variety of important information, from weather patterns to the locations of roads and streets. Because maps can be used to provide such a variety of information, they can also vary widely in scale. Readers will discover how to use a map's key to determine its scale. They will also learn how scales can be used to measure distances.

It was written simply with good illustrations and examples. I would recommend it for students in grades 1 through 3 as an introduction to map scales.
