The Parable of Pipeline
Once upon a time long, long ago, two ambitious young cousins named Pablo and Bruno lived side by side in a small Italian village. The young men were best buddies, and big dreamers. They would talk endlessly about how someday, someway, they would become the richest men in the village. They were both bright and hard working. All they needed was an opportunity. One day that opportunity arrived. The village decided to hire two men to carry water from a nearby river to a cistern in the town square. The job went to Pablo and Bruno. Each man grabbed two buckets and headed to the river. By the end of the day, they had filled the town cistern to the brim. The village elder paid them one penny for each bucket of water. "This is our dream come true! "shouted Bruno. "I can't believe our good fortune." But Pablo wasn't so sure. His back ached and his hands were blistered from carrying the heavy buckets. He dreaded getting up and going to work the next morning. He vowed to think of a better way to get the water from the river to the village.

For some reason, Amazon sent me this book by surprise. It's super short, so I gave it a go.
It's a worthwhile concept and something everyone should be thinking about. But the book is fairly simplistic, and about 2/3rds of the way through devolves into an awkward and outdated sales pitch to start a referral-based internet pyramid scheme.

A small and a simple book but filled with a gem of advice about being free financially to pursue your life. Our accumulated wealth or unpaid bills are not a matter of our luck but a matter of our choice. We want short term bulk of income or a lifetime of wealth.
This book makes you think, what you want to be a Pipeline Builder (wealth accumulator) or a bucket carrier (short term good earner) ?
If I talk about writing, the book is very well written, easy to understand and very easy to read.
I liked the way Burke has explained the parable of pipeline building by the tales of Pablo and Bruno, and, Paul and Bruce, because it really made the not so difficult concept to understand, so easily via storytelling.
Okay, so you always wanted to live like a millionaire and to leave a legacy behind? Great! Don't stop wanting that, because you are getting it soon, but before that please show the courage to read this book well.

This book was recommended by one of my friend.I would say it's a very knowledgable book. This book tells us about the people who are working as employee/self employed and about business people. Author relates all self employed, employees as a bucket carrier job which will stop pumping moneys once u stop carrying bucket. In today's world pipeline is the only way to live. Pipeline is referred as investment in this book. Would suggest all to read this book once in life time. Would say it's a awesome Goodread.

The book gives a very simple analogy regarding financial management that is know to most of us already. Yet it revisits the very basic lesson very well. Very small and quick read. Not a bad book to give to a 8 year old, he may find something that he didn't already knew. The thing one wonders about is that if so many people already know about the principle explained; why they fail to implement it in their lives.

This books gives a great analogy on what it is to have a passive/residual income and what it involves doing. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to know more about creating a passive/residual income.

The written style resembles that of the "The Richest Man in Babylon".
Good for someone just starting out their Personal Finance journey - answers the "What" effectively but has little to offer in terms of "How".
For more experienced readers in this genre - not very informative!

I read this book on a rainy day. It was lent to me by a colleague working in the business division of the multinational company I was working for.
I noted down various lessons from the book. The first one is an advice to the writer from his father, “Never take anything for granted.” The author narrates a story of how two friends worked from 9 to 5 carrying buckets from one place to another. One friend started to invest his evening and weekend hours on building a pipe. He created the pipeline and the bucket job became obsolete.
According to the writer, “Your pipelines are your lifelines.” These pipelines happen to be business streams which should be diverse (short term or long term). These pipelines are open 24/7/365. They pay when we sleep. We must ask ourselves whether we are the bucket carriers or the pipeline builders. On that note, Hedges writes, we go to school to carry buckets. We work hard and earn the right to carry even bigger buckets. We move jobs from Bucket Company A to Bucket Company B. Then we pay for our kids to learn to carry these buckets. Plastic buckets, metal buckets, digital buckets, you name it! He quotes another writer on the fact that carrying buckets is not the same as creating wealth: “How do you become wealthy? Here, too, most people have it wrong. It is seldom luck or inheritance or advanced degrees or even intelligence that enables people to amass fortunes. Wealth is more the result of a lifestyle of hard work, perseverance, planning, and, most of all, self-discipline.”
It is important to leverage time, money and relationships. “Time is money”! It is far more important to leverage time since we aren’t born with the same amount of money, but we have the same amount of time. It is important to work smart for long hours as well! He gives the example of Ford who built one car to fit everyone’s needs. Ford remarked for model T:
“You can have any color you want as long as it’s black.”
Alfred Sloan at General Motors knew that customer is king and he remarked:
“A car for every purpose and purse.”
Sloan’s business acumen resulted in General Motors rising above Ford.

This is a shallow copycat version of Rich Dad Poor Dad (quite something to expect from someone who also authored Copycat Marketing 101).
The book gives you an understanding of the need to save & invest at barely the surface level. Talks about the outdated Multi-level marketing & Affiliate marketing as the only way of building "The Ultimate Short Term Pipeline". Understandable since this book came out in 2001 shortly after the e-comm boom but, nevertheless makes it irrelevant for times now.
A couple of short stories about funny money management were witty but, the book is strictly for a beginner teenager to gain a basic knowledge of making money work for them before they go on to read Rich Dad Poor Dad later in their 20s.
It is a 120-page cruiser, so that's a saving grace.

honestly i wanted this book for months and since it was so hard to get my hands on i wanted it even more. then i finally got a chance to read it and was very badly disappointed. this is the only book i have in my library that i would recommend for my 5-6 grade sister. this book could’ve been a 5 page story then he goes on to explain the rest of the story and elongates the book to 130 pages and the stuff he explains is common sense. watch a youtube video on the story and it’ll save you time and money.

An eye opener for some people, for some, a mere fairytale. This book transforms into what you want to read rather than what the book wants to preach.
A good quick read for young entrepreneurs while a holy bible for job workers pointing out their sins and urging them to diverse their career options.

Why it has been said that from quite a long time that A job is just a temporary solution for a permanent problem of money will be cleared by reading this book.Have started on creating pipeline along with bucket (Job) income.
