Rate this book

Focusing on a team of volunteers and their "buddies," Susan Kuklin shows what it is like to be part of the struggle against AIDS.

"I'm not a victim," says Michael. "I'm living with an illness."

Extremely powerful book on the impact of AIDs during the height of advocacy work in the late 1980s, and provides detailed first hand accounts of what it was like to live with the disease but also for the caretakers who helped during the time.
