Over The Ocean And To The Links: A Golfer's Journey

Rate this book
A hilarious story of a simple man that blows his minuscule IRA to play some of the world's famous golf courses in the home of Golf, Scotland. Stubborn as Jeff is, he knew he could do better than the "golf tours" offered by many companies. As a result, the book is a tee by tee description of Jeff's trip from deciding which courses to play, how much he wanted to spend, the trials of driving on the wrong side of the road, and the simple beauty of Scotland. Here is my story. - Jeff Foulk

So first off let me say this was my first completed ebook. God bless all of you that read books this way. I found it hard to do. I read 6 books in between the start and finish date. It felt too much like studying. I found a compromise by moving it onto my iPhone in ebooks.
This book is so well written. I lived in Dundee Scotland and attended Uni there. St Andrews is our sister Uni so sports privileges are extended to both. Having played on several occasions I was over the moon to read such fun, technical and real descriptions of the Scots people, the towns, the land and most importantly the weather in Scotland.
He wrote it giving finite detail to everything; from booking his trip, booking his rounds at various courses and his driving skills or lack thereof!
If you're interested in traveling to Scotland or would like to plan a vacation there this is the book for you. He gives great information on booking and navigating various b&bs, international car rental, calling home from Europe, your phone won't work there, to playing rounds of golf.
I will invest in getting a hard copy of this book because I enjoyed it that much. Even if you don't like the game of golf this book is a vicarious glimpse into a bucket list trip!
