A group of toddlers has fun imitating a penguin, a crab, a duck, an elephant, and other animals while they exercise and discover all the wonderful ways their bodies can move.
When I read this book, i read it in a fitness instructors voice. This is a super engaging book for little ones that can make reading and moving around fun. This book has an upbeat vibe and it just makes you want to get up and join the children in the illustrations. This book is sure to capture the attention of children while reading it and you can also have them stand up and quietly act out the animals as you read. After reading, they may even think of some other animals they can include as well. The children that are represent are a wide range of children but this book doesn't give children any perspective on others culture. Overall the book had good representation for it's purpose which is to get children to move around by acting like animals.
This book worked great for my high energy movement-based toddler story time at the library. I skipped over a page at the end that had them rolling on the floor, as I didn't really have the space. but otherwise, a lot of fun.
This book will get the audience moving around especially if you have a wiggly crowd. You may need to eliminate some of the movements depending on the layout of the storytime room.
Cute. It was a good way to get out a little bit of energy before bed last night, if I saw the rest of the series at the library I'd probably pick up another.
