The Slippery Slope (#10) was not my favorite, but I constantly found myself reading out loud to my husband, knowing he would get a good laugh, and he did, many times! If you aren't into the very bizarre examples Snicket uses, you might find this one less enjoyable than the first nine, b/c I think his examples are even more bizarre, and therefore (in my opinion) more funny, than before! Sunny reminds me of my daughter, and all her "smart jibberish!" She is still not talking, which is fine with me b/c I love her little language! If you want a very quick easy read, that will make you laugh in a sort of shocking "that is completely ridiculous" sort of way, try this out! As you've probably noticed, most of my time at the library is spent in the children's room, and when story time is done, I'm anxious to get out! So, that is lately the only place I've been able to grab a few books!

Not as enjoyable as the previous books. They are still well written. The mystery of Beatrice also peaks more interest. Starting to wish at this point how the children could possibly have a happy ending and how Snicket could bring himself to deliver an unhappy one. After book 12, I only wanted to read The End in order to see it all through.

Box 4 containing book 10, 11 & 12 about the unfortunate events of the Baudelaire orphans. The books are just as wonderfully repetitive and fun as the previous 9 books. Only one book to go now!!!

The Slippery Slope, my darling of darlings. The Penultimate Peril, my even DARLINGER of darlings. I give you no less than 5 stars. Maybe it’s because I love mountains and I love hotels. Or it’s because I love any book which . Or it’s the emotional impact of Sunny growing up or the lines between good and evil getting blurrier. I mean, Count Olaf being given depth even as the worst person on Earth? It doesn't redeem him, but the dimension it adds to the overall plot and themes can't be understated. This series just gets better and better with each passing volume.

This trio took us longer to get through than the ones before it. Lots more words, not enough action, according to my son, and he’s not wrong. He is proud, though, of listening to 12 big books in a series, with one more to go. And I’m proud of him, too
