Sigh...I used this book for Spanish story time program about mud because it fit the theme (I don't have many books from which to choose in the Spanish storytelling collection), but it wasn't very captivating for the children. It's basically a book that shows pictures of a boy who wants to play in the mud and invites his friends to play outside with him. I'm sure it has merits--putting on boots to keep clean, using a phone book and having children learn telephone calling skills, etc., but it's just not very fun. I'm actually recommending to put it in the circulating collection since I won't be using it again.

I like this book because it has pictures of real kids playing outside in nature. Kindergarten and younger.
