This a perfect book to start kids reading at. I got major Clifford the Big Red Dog vibes from this story though. It took away from the originality to me.

This book is a level 1 book, which means it is for the emergent reader who understands simple vocabulary, word repetition, picture clues, and has familiar themes and ideas. This cute story is about a boy and his dog. The dog's name is Tiny, expect he is not so tiny. He started out that way, tiny. He was so tiny that he could fit in the little boy's shoe and pocket. One day Tiny grew and just kept growing to the point he could not fit in his dog house. But the little boy loves his dog no matter what.

This book is very easy to read and filled with so much hidden clues to show students what the words say. This is a great book to give to those students who just learned to read or is having a hard time reading. This book is also very funny and something I would want in my class if I taught kindergarten.

When Tiny was a puppy, he fit inside a shoe. He fit in a bag, and he even fit in a pocket. Then Tiny grew, and now he is too big for his doghouse. He is too big to lick his friend's face--yuck! Young readers will enjoy this sweet, funny story about a very big dog who was once a tiny puppy. Not since Clifford has a big dog been so appealing!

Not bad for a school book, but I wish big Tiny wasn't almost as big as Clifford... a more realistic big dog would have been more fun, imo.

My children absolutely adore this book. Reading literature is so important to the development of a child's mind, and I cannot think of thing I would rather do then sit down to read to them in the evenings. Imagination and growth are so vital in those so young.

Hannah was VIP of the week (October 11-15, 2010). She brought home a bag, a dog puppet and 4 dog books. She loved all the books!

Very simple, beginning to read book. Tiny is like a brown Clifford the Big Red Dog. A dog who starts off small (thus named tiny), but grows into a giant dog. Not my favorite, but I love the fact that Hannah can read it by herself.
