Good book to read not only in your tough times..It was motivating. One who has a problem of anykind should read it..It changes your perception towards the problem and helps you find the possibilities of getting free. It will renew your strength. One of the best words in it

Every word in this book is motivating.
I remembered a verse he used in the book.
"Treat ideas like a new born babies.
Treat them tenderly...
they can get killed pretty quickly.
Treat them gently....
they can be bruised in infancy.
Treat them respectfully.....
they could be the most valuable thing that ever came into your life.
Treat them protectively.....
Don't let them get away.
Treat them protectively.....
Feed them, and feed hem well.
Treat them antiseptically.....
Don't let them get infected with the germs of negative thoughts.
Treat them responsibly...
Respond! Act! DO something with them!"
Ever since i have read this verse in this books, my ideas never failed me and i never failed them. This book came to me at the time when i was free and as it got away from me, my time to be tough just started. From the day, I read it, I have never found myself lacking the energy in me. I have always found a way to charge myself through my thoughts, my emotions and my spirit.

Here's one of the many verses in the book that have impelled me to keep going and treasure in my mind-
To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach for another is to risk involvement.
To expose your feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place your ideas, your dreams, before a crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To believe is to risk despair.
To try is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The people who risk nothing, do nothing, have nothing, are nothing.
They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love, live.
Chained by their attitudes they are slaves; they have forfeited their freedom.
Only a person who risks is free.

Such an awesome experience! I liked it.
There is a slight difference between possibility thinking and positive thinking. I learned it now by reading this book.

While i was fed up with failures,this book helped me a lot to increase my faith in me. i got recruited in a good Company with rich heritage at my 4th year. they called me for joining on this 4th july, i was sitting in the hall with group of around one hundred students. Every basic procedures was over including signing my salary sheet. Last formality was a shocking news that we should have no arrears upto my 6th semester. i have one arrear that too in 3rd semester. So, they have advice me to get my result cleared and then notify them. it was a heart wrenching disappointment for me. It affected me a lot. I'm waiting for my result, it may publish in between july and august 2012. I'm not afraid of it, if it's positive will go with CSC else would switch over to another company.
readers too keep praying to get my results cleared as it was good enough salary package.

Great book. It tell you how to solve problems you face with possibility thinking. It supplies needed motivation whenever I loose the motivation.

There are too many self-help books but this is short, simple, practical, and the kind you can carry in your pocket. The particularly enjoyed the quotes and anecdotes Dr. Schuller adds every now and then. The book makes you feel comfortable with the thought of adversity by sharing stories that make you feel like you're not alone in the struggle (misery loves company) but also makes you feel positive and hopeful when life gets bumpy.
It is like having your own personal cheerleader in book form! It is one of those books that I would like to revisit every 2-3 years just for renewed motivation and a positive outlook on navigating challenges.

Re read it after 20 years and still so relevant. More than anything it was a reminder that there is a place for values such as belief and kindness which is never out of fashion.

Many of relatives read and kept copies of this book for themselves, and even more of them recommended me to read it. Despite that, I actually got my copy as a gift from a good friend couple of years back and read it completely only last year. I'm not much into inspirational and self-development literature, but surprisingly, I found this one to be a pretty good read; and I guess this book would make a fitting inspirational companion for Christians of all sects and denominations.
Despite it being written by Robert H. Schuller, the Christian pastor and theologian of the Crystal Cathedral Ministries, it doesn't pass itself off as a plain religious work. In fact, I enjoyed its systematic, self-help tone towards personal success which I think can apply to everyone of all faiths.
Perhaps the best thing in this book is its collection of Schuller quotes that are presented between each chapter which I personally enjoyed by simply reading through them, although they can pretty pump-up anyone's day.

It may pass as just another one of those good Robert H. Schuller works that old people like reading, I can honestly say that it's a great addition for even the young man's personal library.

This book was suggested by one of my friend when I was really going through my hard time. I was shifting to Delhi and was in doubt whether the risk taken by me is worthwhile or not. I completed this book while travelling from Mumbai to Delhi and since then this book has motivated me to take risk in my life and to believe in my dreams. Truly "Tough time never last but tough people do".

It is not easy to say something about this book as no one can explain magic.
This book do magic on you.
If you want to start your life once again then you are picking up just the right book for it. By far best motivational book i have read till now.

much pragmatic in approach Robert Schuller has written something beyond just words,something that cud be easily put to action in our daily lives. really impressive and amazing,its not just philosphy...!!

don't read it at your perril it just affirms that life is about the journey and the struggle and character comes out of adversity. overt faith or no faith read it and be encouraged.

A highly motivating book full of personal stories of success of the author. The fundamental premise of the book is, if-I-can-do-it-you-can-too. Don't expect much original thoughts in this book.

Schuller kroz ovu knjigu zapravo prikazuje njegov put i sve prepreke na koje je nailazio prilikom gradnje Kristalne katedrale. Od ideje do izgradnje to zdanja trebalo je 25 godina. Dovršena je 1980. godine i za nju se izdvojilo 20 milijuna dolara. Osobno, mislim kako se tih 20 milijuna dolara moglo iskoristiti na puno bolje načine, a ne na gradnju ogromne građevina koja je sva u staklu (sam autor je rekao da zbog tog stakla treba izdvojiti puno više sredstava za održavanje). Također, na samom vrhu se nalazi kapelica za vjenčanje, koja mladencima pruža prekrasan (skup) doživljaj koji nikako neće zaboraviti.
Kroz knjigu, Schuller prikazuje 12 načela pozitivnog pristupa problemima, 10 zapovijedi rješavanja problema, savjete da ne prepuštamo vodstvo, abecedu pozitivnog razmišljanja, te faze u razvoju vjere.
Nisam očekivala da je ovo knjiga za one koji žele zaraditi novac. Mislim, radi se o tome da je knjiga namijenjena svima onima koji trenutno prolaze kroz teška vremena, ali glavni fokus je na novcu. Kroz 10 zapovijedi i kroz faze u razvoju vjere prikazuje kako doći do velikih novčanih prihoda, što mi se nije nimalo svidjelo.
Ono što je meni trebalo iz ove knjige je snaga i motivacija, osjećaj da nijedno teško razdoblje neće trajati zauvijek, a to jednostavno nisam dobila.

Few key things that i find really helpful.
1) Never reject a possibility/idea just because no one has done it before or it may seem impossible or that you lack the resources to do it, etc. In the author's own words - ' The most tragic waste is the waste of a good idea' .
2) The formula for solving these insolvable problems, which is essentially coming up with a list of 10 ways that might solve the problem.
3) Recognise and name the price you're willing to pay to achieve the things you want. Eg, i want to achieve this, therefore i must be willing to sacrifice my time and other things that i enjoy doing, etc.
4) Don't make an important decision when you are in a bad mood.
5) Winning starts with beginning and beginning starts with a single action.
- ' Today's decisions are tomorrow's realities'.
-' Better to do something imperfectly than to do nothing flawlessly'.
6) 'Doors will open to the enthusiastic person first'.

Tried very hard to read this book, on multiple occasions. Each time failed to go beyond 20% of the book.
This time, I have given up completely. Most likely, I shall never read this to completion.
I found this book, pretty ordinary, nothing impressive, (can attribute this, to be the cause, of me not completing, on each of the three times), I may have seen only one side of the coin hence can consider this a biased opinion. By the way, this book certainly has impressive ratings by other readers.
