In a Magnolia Minute: Secrets of a Late Bloomer

Rate this book
Among listeners of public radio in coastal North Carolina, lifelong Southerner Nan Graham needs no introduction. Her first book, Turn South at the Next Magnolia , brought her even more happy fans. Her latest, In a Magnolia Minute , is sure to win her further praise as a Southern humorist. Here, you'll meet the Southerner who relishes a spoonful of Vicks VapoRub for dessert and encounter crazed enthusiasts in a stampede at a fern sale. And that doesn't begin to account for the day Nan's finger is mistaken for the bacon in a BLT, or the time her granddaughter unwittingly reveals her Scottish roots. Take a minute with Nan Graham...guaranteed to bring Southern smiles to your day.

Bless her heart, Ms. Graham, has written a lovely book about the South. The stories are short and humorous filled with a gracious charm that only one born and bred below the Mason-Dixon line can conjure.

Just OK. Short humorous stories and thoughts about Southern Belles. However, I didn't find that many funny. I expected better after I read Pat Conroy's testimonial. I wouldn't rush to put it on your "to read" list.

Fun book. Quick read. Each chapter is a different short story.
