Extraordinary Faith: God's Perfect Gift For Every Womans Heart

Rate this book
Whether or not you know or even understand it, you are living a life of faith. Perhaps not the conventional, Christian ideal of faith, but faith nonetheless. You flip the light switch and have faith that the light will come on. You turn the key and expect the engine to start. But what about the big things in life? Do you have faith that you'll remain healthy? Faith that your children will be safe from violence? We all face situations that we cannot control. All we can do is trust-and have faith-that God will see us through. Rather than a complicated, theological enigma, Sheila Walsh explains that faith is a simple, life-giving gift God offers His children. And since it is a gift, He expects us to share it-to give it away. By sharing biblical and modern examples of women of faith, Sheila opens our eyes to the extravagant gift God has for each of us.

This book has been a cool drink of water in my study on faith. I felt as if I was sitting down at a coffee shop fellowshipping with a fellow sister in Christ as I read the contents. I was pleasantly surprised with liking this book so much as I simply picked it up at a thrift store and didn’t know anything about it or the author. It was a refreshing treat.

This is not a book of pat answers, but one that explores the meaning of faith in God when He provides the miracle we're pleading for -- and when He does not. Through Bible verses and personal stories, Sheila Walsh encourages women to discover and rely on God's faithfulness.

I feel like one more round of editing would have tightened the text and made it easier to glean the truths within. As is, at times the chapters felt a bit too conversational (in a rambly sense) but they did always make their point.

This is a straightforward, simple, humor filled, encouraging book that says where ever you are in life, whatever circumstances you face, God loves you and will faithfully walk with you through it. Sheila Walsh takes the time to help us recognize the "fingerprints" of God all over our lives. Definitely worth reading TWICE!

This book is a wonderful expression of faith by author Sheila Walsh as well as an encouragement to all of us that often feel we're on shaky ground in our walk with God. I like her warmth and the way she draws parallels between the lives of those who people the Bible and those of us who struggle every day. An inspiring work for every Christian to read!
