Jonathan Ashcroft--aka Sade--never asked for kindness or second chances, but he gets both when Mercy the mysterious do-gooder shows up in his life out of nowhere.
First order of business is--where the hell did she even come from? Who is she, really? How does she know about his sadistic affairs, but more importantly, what is she suddenly doing in them?

Yes, he's asked her all these questions five different ways. Nicely. And even while tied to a chair in a compromising position, she still refuses to cooperate. Continues to lie. Play stupid. He can only assume she wants him to force the issue even more than this.

Sweet Miss Mercy wants to stick her nose where it doesn't belong? She wants help him, no strings attached? Fine. He'll play her cute game. But that will come with a price. Terms and conditions. Contracts. And they will especially include satisfying his sadistic needs.

Let's see how helpful she's feeling then.

I’m a husband and author, and I may be a little religious about both. I like writing hot sex and encapsulating it in the delicate white silk of devotion, commitment, and psychotic obsession.

If you've seen my reviews you know that I use A LOT of gifs to convey my thoughts on a book. Mercy Mercy Mercy..

 photo 9273415_zpsu4u6iu5h.gif

Mercy: A Dark Erotica had me feeling so many damn emotions til it just wasn't funny. I laughed, I cried, I had some WTF moments but most of all I felt EVERYTHING the characters were going through.

Sade is the sadomasochist tattoo artist who has his own world of issues.

Mercy has a wanna save the world and the troubled people in it type of personality with her own tote of physical and emotional problems. Their paths cross when Mercy finds a file on Sade that her dead father was keeping.

Mercy A Dark Erotica will KEEP you on the edge of your seat right from the first page. Trust me I had my popcorn ready when I saw the very first teaser and BOOM I needed it!!

So if you are ready for a raw, gritty, emotional book that will suck you in from the jump then you really need to read Mercy you will NOT be disappointed. Oh and OMG the ending let me just share with you my reading experience for the last 2 pages. I'm laying in bed its midnight and I'm almost done and I get to the last page and sit straight up in bed and yell "motherf**ker"! I had to read the last 2 pages 3 times to make sure what I was reading was correct and each time I finished motherf**ker was my only reaction. So I'm going to leave you with this gif.

This book starts with some really damn awkward phrasing like...

"Ass kicking was kicking fucking ass no matter what ground you stood on."

"He was kind of... owning everything to be doing anything crazy like that though wasn't he?"

And, let me tell you that the phrasing and grammar are the least odd things about this book.

Odd, Odd ... I mean Odd

I like odd, but this is that level of odd that feels like you're on earth and the counterpart is...

description

What's what -

Mercy's mercenary dad recently died. She finds a file on a dude named Sade, who's the son of some drug lord.

She had some kind of f'd up childhood that her "dad" saved her from.

She thinks she will save/investigate Sade and carry on her dad's work, whatever the hell that may be.

Fine. A tad obtuse, but I'm down....

Sade likes pain - to give and to receive. He's asked someone to beat him to oblivion.

She unwittingly stumbles upon this and 'saves him.'

He thinks it was all a dream until she shows up again for a 12 hour mofo tattoo that she has to get naked for.

He discovers she has scars. She discovers he has a kinky side. When he realizes she was in the alley, he assumes she's a cop. He makes excuses and gives rain check on the tat.

Now, let me pause to tell you that he makes this comment as he breathes in her pussy during the tat :

"The scent of a woman's pussy was a turn off -- except during those sexorcisms-- ...

Uhm, okay. I'm still listening, but this really needs to go somewhere quick like.

He calls her up. No pretense of rescheduling. Instead, he tells her he destroyed his apartment in a fit of rage and asks if she knows anyone to clean it up. She volunteers as tribute. *insert eyeroll*

My patience with the unbelievable is paper thin.

He drugs her and ties her up for answers.

What follows is some of the most asinine, oddball, nonsense I've probably ever read.

Page upon page of "you're a cop" to her "no I'm not." Suddenly, they agree to a trust contract that they'll draw up on the spot. Her demand ...

Date me for a year. No sex. Must talk to me daily. Be my boy and my friend = boyfriend. And we will work on your sexuality.

"I want to focus on the emotional and mental, and spiritual aspects of your sexuality.

She goes on to tell him that he's into sadism and masochism and should want to experience normal sexuality.

Not clear? Okay let's try this -

Him: "So you want to teach me how to experience normal sexuality but you can't teach me."

Her: "I can give you the tools to teach yourself."

Him: "Sounds like a real blast."

Oh, it gets better. He has his own stipulations. She has to be his live-in maid and cook for the year.

I'm dying here. Seriously.

She then tries to kick his ass, which gets him all hot... Which in turn makes it awkward for her... Suddenly they're ordering Chinese.

A couple pages later this takes a skip to her trying to get him on the phone. He finally answers with...

I'm sorry baby...

alt="description"/>

Woah, back the fuck up. Baby? Dude goes from his dick being basically uninterested in women outside the rare times he hires a whore to unleash his sadist side on to .... calling her baby.

This shit is like an S&M episode of Springer.

description

I don't know whether to laugh or cringe at the nonsense here.

When an author can create a story with characters that reach out and stop your heart from beating while you find your breath, that author is truly gifted! That is what Lucian Bane has done with this book. Sade and Mercy's emotions were triggers for my own. Their path was unfamiliar to me, but I truly felt their pain and their need to heal each other. DAMN, this book is simply phenomenal!!

I see Sade and Mercy each as a pile of broken pieces. They are individuals that are held together only by their physical bodies because their souls have been so damaged that they are shattered inside. Fate, in the form of a special envelope, brings them crashing together. I knew right then my emotions were in for a ride that was going to gut me! Even though I had read all of the snippets and teasers, there was no adequate preparation for what was to come in this story. And there is no way for me to even begin to do this book the justice it deserves. Only the very talented Mr. Bane can do that!

So, read this as the beautifully created, totally unique love story that it is, knowing that it will definitely steal you away from the real world and throw you into a world you can't even imagine exists. Prepare for the parts that will have you crying and searching the kitchen for your favorite comforting food (mine was s'mores), knowing that Lucian will also provide you with laughs (courtesy of his trademark sense of humor), and plenty of steamy scenes. It's the perfect recipe for my new favorite Lucian Bane novel!

Did I read the same book as all of these 4 and 5 star reviewers did? I had to come back to GoodReads and make sure I purchased the right book. I'm pretty sure I was less than 10 pages in and already hated it. I shelved it, and then picked it back up again at least 5 times and I'm still not even finished with it. The writing is just ridiculous, the story terrible. Just skip it.

“ An Angel with a broken wing, patched together with sheer determination to survive and live and be… so fucking beautiful.”

This isn’t like the other dark erotica books I have read where a mega rich man kidnaps a woman and then they may or may not, through chapters of struggle, find an HEA. No, this book is about raw emotions. This book exercises the demons in us all. Whether you have experenced anything like this or not, there is something here that will strike a cord of recognition. Mercy is a story of two broken souls. One trying to save the other, only to find that they are still broken as well. It’s a story of two souls that come together to save each other. Pain, anguish, hope, sex. All woven into a beautiful story that shows the reader, no matter what you battle, you can overcome. You can find acceptance. You can embrace your quirks and find happiness.

This book had me on the edge of my seat. Holding my breath and guessing what was to come. The anguish is gut-wrenching and palpable. The hope releases that feeling in you where you think anything is possible. You just FEEL this book. I can’t wait to see what Sade and Mercy share with us in part 2.

WOW...a delicious, whirlwind of rioting emotions! A one-sitting, page-turner to the end...

First a little background... I’d been reading teasers on Lucian Bane's Facebook page, reading snippets here and there. I played this game to pick Sade's favorite song. It was a contest. I won and I received a gift copy of MERCY. My desire to write a review is by my choice alone and was not requested by the author.

It's been awhile since I've read a book where an author made me physically feel, but Lucian Bane paints in words a world so vivid it leaps off the page. It was impossible not to become invested in the lives of Sade and Mercy.

Now for my thoughts...What makes a story interesting, fun, memorable, and just plain engaging on an emotional gut level differs for us all. For me it is the rawness expressed in the characters. Their strengths, weaknesses, and their staggering flaws. And it's in a storyline that takes me on an unexpected journey, challenging my assumptions of where I thought I might go. Lucian Bane hit it out of the park on both these counts...far, far, out of the park...

The story of MERCY gave the surprise of a strong, dominant male lead with so many cracks and scars, I couldn't see how Sade held himself together. But, wow, how he did. He stood tall and proud, and burned with a brilliance I found daunting at times. His self-destructive tendencies were hell bent on ruining his life, but man, how he fought. His self-loathing rose from the page, but so did a wish for something....else. A hope for more.

And here is where Mercy comes in. Lucian Bane does not write in the usual romantic tropes. He twists them and wrings from his characters, something we all hope we could become, but would never dare, because that pain would be too raw. There's no weak female lead here who needed a man to save her. Mercy is strong, independent, willful, and just so incredibly sure of herself. She is a kick-ass woman, strong and free, who gave everything to love a man stronger than herself, but who was also her equal.

For a brief moment in time, I was swept into another world and shared a sliver of a moment with these two incredible characters. Alone, each of them were broken, shattered souls. Sade's a sadomasochist with dark needs. Mercy's an innocent, pure and wholesome, yet tainted by her past. Together, they tackle their demons...

There is no doubt this book is raw. The journey of Sade & Mercy is one full of emotional pitfalls and horrific past experiences that must be unearthed before they each fully understand the pain they feel. Sade's rage pops off the page. His fury is potent and as real as it is desperate. Mercy's outlook is that of an angel, burying her pain so deep to help another that she's blind to the hold her demons have over her. Their journey had me clenching my teeth as they brought each other forward toward a path of healing that could only be travelled together. And just when you think it's over...it's not...

Definitely waiting for book two.

'Twas bad.

I mean, the story itself was okay. It has a lot of potential to be a really good story, the characters are entertaining. The chemistry between the two was on fire.

Just one thing that made the whole reading experience bad, was the writing. Mind you, it was not the writing style that made it not good, it was the grammatical and vocabulary errors. I mean, dear God, there are so many grammatical errors that I lost count.

There are so many times where it could have been a great and sweet moment between the MCs , but the writing mistakes made it lost it's intended impact.

I mean, I get that this book is self-published, but the writing and spelling mistakes in this book is just atrocious. Not meaning to be rude, because I really wanted to like this book, but please, do us all a favor and get a decent spell-proofer or an editor to help check the mistakes in this book.

Where do I begin? I'm not very good at writing reviews but here it goes.. For me this book had my emotions all over the place, nail biting sitting on the edge of your seat wondering what happens next kinda thing.. It also had me crying (which I normally don't do while reading books and is only the second one that made me). The raw emotional feeling this book leaves you feeling is impeccable. It makes you feel things you thought you dealt with in your own past as well as making you look at your own life and wonder what demons you have hidden only to show that special someone who truly understands who you are and meshes with you to make you whole. I do have to add this quote in here because well it just hits home for me.

"Some people are born to survive. No matter what comes their way, no matter how much pain is dealt them, they live. They survive it somehow."

I was born to be a survivor and deal with every blow that is given to me. This line in this book will forever be in my heart becuause I live it everday.

This is by far the best book written by Mr. Lucian Bane and can't wait for the next one. Congratulations Lucian!!

Wow! A Must Read

Wow! If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. It is that good. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't stop reading. The way the author wrote this book, makes it seem so real. I felt all the pain from both Mercy and Sade, even more than the pain. All the emotions are real, the hurt you will go thru and the need of wanting the pain. This book will connect with you and stick with you.

Mercy and Sade will take you on a journey, you will experience it with them. The chemistry between the two is so dang hot. The whole story will reach your heart and hold onto it. You'll learn a lot about Mercy and Sade.

I have to say great job to you Lucian on an amazing story. This is truly an amazing book. This one touched my heart and will stick with me.

I am blown away, I cannot remember reading a book that the writer was able to actually make me physically feel the anguish, confusion hope and so much more. Lucian Bane paints you such a vivid and tortured yet hopeful picture with these characters, you would have to be dead not to feel invested in the lives of Sade and Mercy. Now that I am done reading, I feel somewhat lost, I am having a book hangover.....not sure what to read that could compare!
It is truly amazing how you see the characters grow and develop and the story play on. This is not a book you would ever guess how it is going to end as Lucian has truly written a one of a kind story. I am greatly looking forward to see how this goes.

Unless you are an adolescent, don't waste your time. I proposed this as a buddy read based on others' reviews. After reading perhaps 20% of it, I cancelled the read because I didn't want others to waste their time. Here are notes I made:
Started reading Mercy on Friday, but found myself increasingly disenchanted as I continued. Here are some of my notes:
1. Get's off to a bad start. Mercy, the central female character, goes through her dad's papers after his recent death and comes across information on Sade, the central male character. For some unexplained reason, her dad had taken on Sade as a "project" (never explained). Sade is an extreme sadomasochist. Without providing any rationale, Mercy decides to devote herself to making Sade her project. Dumb!
2. Supposedly Mercy has been trained in every kind of self defense by her dad. She gets herself into a fix in a group of very rough characters, but instead of just defending herself, she goes into a panic. Not believable.
3.Keeps getting more unbelievable. After encountering Sade, who has had himself beaten to a pulp, Mercy decides she needs to meet him again. So she calls his tattoo parlor and agrees to get a 12-hour tattoo job (done all at once) that covers her entire back. Give me a break.
4. The scene in the tattoo shop begins to get my interest, but that quickly ends.
5. Sade destroys his apartment in rage. Mercy agrees (!) to being hired to clean up the apartment. Sade learns that Mercy had seen him when he was beaten, takes her and restrains her in a chair in the basement. Lots of back and forth between the two, but none of it feels credible. The drama does hold my interest.
6. At the end of chapter 5, after all that goes on in the basement, they negotiate a contract that is completely unbelievable. An example: the final condition is that Mercy requires Sade to date her for a year with no sex! This is a guy who is a raving maniac, and she has not shown any real understanding or liking of him.
7. The final contract has her living in his apartment for a year with no sex for a year at a salary of $4,000 a month. Unbelievable. Giving it the benefit of the doubt, I am hoping that it sets up an interesting situation, so one should just suspend disbelief.
8. The next chapter just continues in the same vein of unexplained, unbelievable behaviors by Mercy.

I don't need to go further. I know this book is not for me, and for the life of me can't understand how it got high ratings and a number of extremely positive reviews. I rate it a 1 star (0 stars if there was this choice).

4 Mercy Stars!

I can't believe this is my first Lucian Bane book. What have I been missing? I loved the writing, the plot, and the suspense. This one was different then my usual dark reads. The first half was a bit slow, but Bamn to the second half. Things started heating up, the plot thicken and I was hooked. There's so many facets to this story, I can't wait to see what's next for these characters.

The dialogue between Sade and Mercy was panty melting, a tad bit sad, and a whole lot of real. I actually laughed out loud at some of it. A refreshing change from other books, where I have to endure inner dialogue through the majority of the book. Sade a complex character. I want him to find peace, love, acceptance. I absolutely fell in love with him. Mercy a strong willed heroine, but angelic. I thought she was written perfectly. Sade and Mercy, the epitome of broken. Can they be whole together?

As an avid reader of Lucian's work, I was excited to begin Mercy, as this is his first of this kind. Once I dove in, I couldn't stop. Up all night reading this nail biter, anxious to see what would happen next. The well-developed main characters, Sade and Mercy, are two incredibly damaged individuals. Their story is emotional, suspenseful, harsh, tender, loving, hating, sure and confused. This is a dark read, yet love and trust seem to be what the story is revolving around.
If you are sensitive to certain sexual situations, there may be some scenes that aren't for you. That's the only cautionary statement I have to make and would recommend reading the reviews a synopsis before purchasing, just to be sure.
Lucian Bane has done it again. He took this genre and owned it, as he has many others. This is his best yet, in my opinion. I absolutely cannot wait for the continuation of Mercy!!

Wow. Dark, edgy and sensual. I loved this book. Sade & Mercy will heat up your Kindle and make you swoon, gasp and cry at the same time. Two tortured souls that seek healing. Can Mercy save Sade and teach him that love doesn't always mean pain? Can they have a chance at something beyond the pain?
Unique plot and intriguing characters. This book was unlike any I have ever read. If you love the dark side, do not miss this.

Damn it I should known by now to expect this from Lucian Bane's books and I knew it was gonna happen but it still kills me every time!! Another freaking cliff hanger, but what an amazing one it was. Five stars doesn't come close to enough for Mercy. This book was crazy! Like edge of your seat crazy. The relationship that develops between Sade and Mercy is different than any other I have ever read. Mercy one of the strongest, bad-assest(if that's a word lol) woman ever!! They way she fights for herself and Sade makes me not only love her but want to be her. Sade starts out hard and angry but Mercy breaks him down with her bad-assery. I couldn't stop reading once I started which is common whenever I read a LB book, but this one not only pulled me in but gripped me and held me there in chains till the very end. Lucian's daily snippets had been working me up the last few weeks but nothing could prepare me for the emotional rollercoaster this book caused. I loved it so much I'm starting it again as soon as I finish this review. People ask me all the time who is your favorite author and I usually answer that I have so many I love but couldn't really pick a favorite, well that has been changing for me and Mercy just did me in. From now on my answer will be LUCIAN BANE IS MY FAVORITE AUTHOR!!!

The definition of Mercy: an act of kindness, compassion, or favor. The idiom of Mercy: at the mercy of, entirely in the power of; subject to: Also, at one's mercy. So it is no surprise that the heroine in this book was named Mercy, when it came to Sade she not only showed him Mercy but she sacrificed who she was and put herself at his Mercy in order to help him.

Sade is a bad boy of sorts with a very troubled past, a past that created a monster inside of him that he battles to control everyday. Mercy is strong, smart, compassionate but she also has a past that has left her scarred and fighting her own demons.

An angel with a broken wing, patched together with sheer determination to survive and live and be ....so fucking beautiful.

Sade and Mercy's journey is not an easy one, it is tug of war every day between what they want, what they need and what they fear. This book is an emotional roller coaster that will lock you in, take you on all the twist turns and upside down loopdy-loo's that you can imagine. You will feel...Every.Single.Emotion. The struggle, frustration, desperation, the give and take. There are moments that you will cry, laugh, cringe and then there are those moments you will celebrate the small victories that they achieve.

The characters in this book are cleverly written, well developed and without a doubt the best ones yet. The author writes it so that you feel and see the very soul of the characters and like you are in the story with them. I was anxiously turning each page to find out just what he would come up with next and when I got to the very end the "f" bombs were dropping like they were hot. Well played Mr. Bane, well played.

As always..my fave quote(s):

This is where I belong. Are you listening to me baby? Broken or whole, you are all mine.

"Ohhh, you are going to beg for it" She shook her head more. "Oh yes you will." He climbed on the bed until his gaze was right before hers. "Are you looking at me? Are we connecting? Souls meshing here, baby? Mark my words, Miss Mercy. You will beg. For me. For my touch.Until you're burning for it. We clear?"

He didn't save me from that life once. He saved me a million times. As many times as I needed saving.

Dark? Yes....Romance? Yes....Twisted?? Hells Yeah!!!

Dark like night, but demons play better in the dark...some demons are in their heads, while others are breathing down their necks...Mercy and Sade are brought together in the oddest way, and yet are truly two damaged souls living in a dark and sadistic part of society....pain, pleasure, torture, fights, longing, deception, trust, sex, and demons of a haunting past will keep the pages turning.
Romance...not in any traditional sense, but oh so beautifully broken...you want the glimmer of hope and light that one angel can help defeat some demons...and through the battles, the scars are way more than skin deep.
Twisted...it's the most disturbing of ways, but thrilling and chilling to the core...to know the damage done and being on the edge of your seat, reading the danger and temptation fighting to break the small rays of hopes light....the twisted edge of balancing sadism and love, dominance and submission, healing and masochism, the angel to become one with the demon and find a way to the light.....but the darkness and twisted demons will do their worst to keep them from finding it.
Mr Bane has this way of sucking you in, ripping your heart out, patching it with hope, and shattering your soul, that you're on pins and needles till the next book comes out!! Yes this was gripping and dark, but to see the bits of light and twisted love in its rawest form was spellbinding! A must read and be on the watch for book two!! #bravo #oncor #mustread #kindlecrack #oneclick

3.5 stars for the 1st half!
4 stars for the 2nd half!

This ended up being a really good story, Sade and Mercy are 2 very fuxked up people living w some serious demons from their past. They didn't know it but they are perfect for each other- they both need something dark just in different ways and I enjoyed their journey.
The story was splotchy in areas, I found myself reading a paragraph and looking back a page thinking I skipped something.... Oh and the constant reference to Sade's sexuality, OMG!
Sade can only get off from pain, but the constant use of "sadist", "masochist", sadomasochist", "sadism" etc drove me insane- we get it, really we do.... I love their fuxked up ways of getting off- hell I would've loved to have even more dark sex scenes.
The plot took a total twist a little over halfway and I was hooked from then on out.
Stupid cliffhanger kicked my ass so now I have yet another book I'm in the edge of my seat for!

Mercy kept me interested from the beginning. I couldn't put it down I wanted to know what Sade or Mercy would do next. There are twist and turns that make you want more. The message of the book is everyone is broken and together they may or may not be able to fix each other that's what kept me interested in the story. This was a dark book so be ready for pain but the author does a great job and telling you why. I loved this book because it was different from anything else I've read and wasn't sure if I would enjoy it but there a love story that drew me in. In the end I enjoyed this book expect for the cliff hanger but I know as soon as the next book comes out I'll get my answer and love it just us much.

Gah!!! I was so sure there would be no hangers but I see Lucian's point. Mercy and Sade's story is to good to end this quickly. I'm ready for the next part but content to wait.

I don't like spoilers so I try to limit them in my reviews.

That said, Sade is flipping' hot! I hope we learn more about his past, in detail. I love learning the deep down secrets that make the characters tick.

Mercy is a little goody-goody with all the "fixing him" and "helping". Normally that drives me crazy, but in this story she is his perfect opposite. Though it is nice to see she's got a bit of fire and willingness to give him what he needs.

Wondering what I mean? Read the story and find out!!

“You are such a fucking weenie, you know that?"

Nice, tumultuously story of Sade, a sadomasochist tattoo artist, and Mercy, I-will-save-all-broken-people-in-the-world. It is a dark, gritty book that has you on edge from the beginning. You need to keep focus of everything that is happening. Both characters are suffering from horrific childhood experiences. So when you think they have come to terms with their past... boom! There is the cliffhanger... on to book 2.

THE BOOM MASTER

I received the snippets along the way that Lucian offered. I questioned why the particular move that Sade made to get out of Mercy's death grip had to be that way. Could Lucian do something else, is there another way he could get out ,could I handle the darkness of the book?, What was going to happen to my tender heart that I have spent a lifetime trying to control. The books I have mostly read are HEA some kind of romance-PNR, Historical and contemporary. In Life most of us do not identify to the public, co-workers or new friends what we do in our sex life. So I do not know if I have ever had a friend that had any of these desires or practiced them in their private life. I mean we introduce ourselves as Hi I am ----- and I'm into S/M. It's just not the way we usually work. So this is my first experience reading about S/M. That being said, I have some questions about the S/M parts of the story that will need to be researched-after I write my review. And, I will so that I can understand and accept Sade with baggage and all. I am a follower of Lucian Bane's writing and have enjoyed his style and how the characters come to be, I also see pieces of the author in his writing that are in his personality...Which is fun cause I'm like --yay that's what Lucian has said or would say.
I loved this book from the very beginning. As I said I was prepared for much worse and fully expected to have been enrolling in therapy soon after I read Mercy's story. Mercy is a kick ass girl who has not had an easy life, but who has also felt the unconditional love of her father who would go to the ends of the earth to protect her and prepare her for just about anything! I love that she is a nurse, and wants to help people when she has been so hurt. I can totally identify with that as I also want to care for people. Even in all her struggles she comes out this side of the story with some baggage, but, not so much so that she is damaged beyond repair. I love that she is strong both physically and mentally or she would have just disappeared years ago from her awful past. She is so positive about wanting to help Sade, even when she has no idea what she could be getting into! She accepts almost all of him and wants to help bring him to a place where he can be more normal. To be his friend. It's like in this underworld of hell that Sade lives in there have not been many if any true people in his life. I cant wait to see how the relationships that are forming in the first book continue on in the second book. How will Sade and Bo relate and if they will become closer? I cant wait to see if Sade and Mercy's father have a real relationship. What happens when Mercy finds out her dad is still alive? I love that these two broken souls have a connection somewhere from the very beginning and how fast they connect on a higher level. That they show each other that part of themselves they think no one could ever love or understand. I was like cheering them on as I read. Hoping that Mercy will kick Sade's ass for "fighting dirty"! They cling to each other in a very strong and I believe positive way. Slowly shedding light on the darkness of the past. Both giving and taking-I thought when Sade restrained Mercy the second time, that both she and I may lose it... We did not. And I love her mantra, that helps her deal. but, even when Sade restrains her and touches her, she does not fall apart or crawl back into the hole where it's safe. She DEALS and moves on. Most of Lucian's female character are always this strong, beyond believe strong that we don't usually see. And in some of the sexual situations that I'm thinking "Oh, hell No!" I'll brain him when I get loose. But, they don't and maybe it's just that I have never had that kind of relationship. That I don't understand, or the power of that kind of love???? I don't know!! I will need to think about that one.
Both Mercy and Sade are dancers, I love it! Strong and sensual. BOOM!
Thank you for asking me to trust you with what happens with Mercy. I'm glad I did! It was not nearly as bad as I had conjured in my mind waiting for the final book.
I love it that when Sade's heart was pounding, I swear mine was too. I wiped tears as Mercy did. I held onto my kindle so tight my hands hurt today. I loved that Sade (Vin Diesel look-a- like) was" Man enough" to cry, to start the sharing first and even though he thought Mercy was a little crazy- he did it anyway. Maybe subconsciously Mercy really is his angel! I hope so! I'm not familiar with SAIL song,( I will find and listen to it) but I kept thinking of another song that seemed to fit also. We're not broken from Pink. I hope to hell that Sade's dad gets his too!
Lucian Bane is a masterful story teller and I eagerly await Mercy and Sade's story to continue I hope all of our questions will be answered. I don't mind the cliffhanger, I now have something to look forward to reading, That I know it will be a new, inviting, strong, positive and loving storyline that Lucian is so great at writing. That they may have come from hell, but will be damned if there going to go back , that they will work together to come out the other sunny side! I love a story that we can sink into and keep thinking about the characters days after w finish the book. And on some random day something makes you remember what happened here.------Wow that is GREAT writing!!!
CHEERS!!! WELL DONE!!!! I'm speechless (and that never happens) BRAVO, WOW, THANK YOU, THE BOOM MASTER!!!

When I opened this book I figured that what I had seen for teasers would be similar to watching commercials on tv announcing the new movie coming out and showing the best parts. I was so wrong. The teasers were in fact...teasers, to some of the really good parts, but he saved the absolute best for the readers. I patiently waited for what felt similar to a year to get my hands on this book and it was beautiful. Two beautiful people coming from two vicious backgrounds trying to survive in their own ways and make it through to the next day with whatever it took. Two souls so lonely, empty, not realizing that more...better was possible. Not until they finally meet.
Nothing about Sade or Mercy is normal. He is animalistic, she is the epitome of innocence. She feels too dirty, he needs dirtier. Yet, they come together and nothing is as it was before. She wants to tame his beast, he wants her to want him his way. Between the kicking and scratching, screaming and crying, who is going to come out on top? *whistles sweetly*
I'm happy this isn't the end of Mercy and Sade. There is so much going on, I can't imagine trying to hurry up the ending. Let the characters voices live on! I laughed, I got angry, I was frustrated, I even had a moment when I just had to question myself and the things that the story brought up in me. Favorite part? I just have to point this out. My sense of humor was very enlightened when her thinking shows up with the use of the word "stuff" when thinking about "size". I was so sucked in that I felt like I was a part of the situation. I busted out laughing so hard I actually snorted and choked! Using "stuff" rather than some proper or derogatory term made the thought that much more hers than the author's which heightened my amusement even more. Thank you for that! So much to say, I don't want to shut up!!! Have Mercy on me! I'm ready for part 2 of your brilliance!

I was so excited for this book to be release I'd read my daily email snippets and think hurry up book I need you!! I love to read and I love a good love story. I don't think Dark should scare you off from this book Yes there are heavy issues and triggers for some people but what lies in between all that is a beautiful story of two people who needed love more than they even realized

Sade and Mercy have been through things that I can not even imagine Things that nightmares are made of. Their broken and determined to put each other back together as best they can. They have a take no crap from each other if we are going to do this we are giving it our all kind of relationship I absolutely fell for Sade and Mercy Sade with his sadomascastic needs and Mercy with her I can make him better attitude makes for a love story I'll never be able to forget There is so much to this story Things that will break your heart, make you stop and take a breath, put you on the edge of your seat. It's got everything I think a epic read must have When you read the last page and your heart is pounding, your breath is coming quicker than it should, your heads in a fog , and you've just got to have more,. You know you've read a great book

Lucian has done it again. He dragged me into a world I only vaguely knew of and made me identify with the pain and heartbreak of the characters. I found myself in tears several times and aroused at other times. Let me try to give my review without giving away the plot. Mercy finds a note from her dead dad. Her dad was a "mercenary for good" and Mercy believes she is meant to take his role with the person in this note. Sade is a broken man; a tattoo artist by day and ruthless fighter by night. He is both sadistic and masochistic and when Mercy appears in his tattoo parlor, his sadism is turned up. The journey they take together as Mercy tries to get broken Sade to heal both his sadism and masochism will have you on the edge of your seat. However, Sade is not the only one undergoing lessons in being human. I loved the fierceness of both characters. I loved how they connect through their broken-ness, and how compassion and human dignity are pivotal in the plot. Cannnot wait for part deux. Hats off to you, Mr. Bane!
