We took a break from Bible reading to do this as a devotional each morning. We took two days with each hymn, first reading the story behind the hymn (written by Bobbie Wolgemuth), the Bible verse, and the hymn itself. The second day we read Joni Ereckson Tada's devotional, then repeated the verse, hymn, and prayer. The stories are well written and illustrated, and the collection includes a few of my favorite hymns.

Loved reading through this book with my dad! Kept these books by the piano and play the songs at times.

I loved the portion about the hymns but at times had to “edit” the devotions while reading.
