I love the last few chapters. I've given three stars because the book was very slow getting to the plot. But,the ending was very miraculous. The ending is a prime example of the word "miracle".
This book was an interesting read. There were a few twist and turns and that kept my attention. It was a slow read at first but then it started to get good. The ending was very surprising. It had me saying, "wwwwhhhhhaaaaatttt!!!!!" Lol, read it for yourself.
This was a great book that took me through many emotions. It also holds a hint of suspense in it. I read this book in its entirety in less than 24 hours.
I lost interest by chapter 7. This narrator was dry and kept messing up, which added to the fact that I was already zoning out on the story. I wasn't interested in continuing.
I rated In Greene Pastures 4 🌟 CLEARLY I’ve changed my mind somewhere between chapters 26-35. I’m not sure if I would say it got better or the ending was just so surprising, but either way it was good I’d have given it 3.5 but seeing that I have to decide or 3 or 4…
I still think it took waaay too long to get to solve or to even determine whether or not there was anything to solve. Also, the ending was pretty final so book 2?? IDK.
I loved this book. The whole book had me questioning whether or not the events in this book were real. The author does a wonderful job making the characters come to life. I am young and in test of faith. Yet the author of this book can truly tell it how it is. She understands the culture and lets the reader understand her religion. Truly wonderful book if you haven't read it them get it now.
The narrator made this book really hard to finish, she made a lot of mistakes. This book was all over the place. There were times when the author gave too many details and then not enough details in other places. There were times when it seemed like a whole chunk was missing but no that's just the next part. The ending was random.
Wonderful Christian Fiction. I will read the remainder of the series. I listened on Audible and the narrator was not so great. Thus the four stars. Prayerfully she won't narrate the next one!
There is a terrible car accident and Rev. B.T. Tides is presumed dead. As it turned out, he was not killed in a car accident, he was kidnapped. His daughter Jade Tides had a dream that he was not dead and asked the owner of the newspaper the Atlanta Weekly Chronicles to continue to run the condolence letters because she felt there was a clue about her father somewhere in the letters. Against the wishes of the people of the church and the new pastor, Hunter continues running the letters and the kidnapper and Rev. Tides are found. Through all the excitement, Jade and Hunter start a romantic relationship and eventually get married. The first book in The Shelton Heights series. Read this book: January 2013.
This was a very good book. I enjoyed reading this thoroughly and found myself anticipating the end but being totally wrong. I love those types of books.
This is definitely a book I will recommend to others. If you enjoy Christian Fiction this is definitely a good read. And if you typically shy away from Christian Fiction because you believe it's too preachy this is still a very good read because it's not "preachy" but has a message everyone can relate to.
I am thrilled I checked the next 2 books in this series out. I cannot wait to begin reading the next one. One last tidbit, if this book ever makes it to film Cocoa Brown (from Tyler Perry's "For Better or For Worse tv series) would make a great Ingrid.
I must say I was extremely suprised by the ending. This was a page turner. I finished it in 5 days. Once you get going reading it if you like the murder mystery type thing it was pretty good. The twist was even better. I guess ultimately what I learned is to trust that feeling that God gives you in the mist of things. And I really needed it at this particular time in my life. Thank you Kendra this was a good read. I started book two of the series this morning and already a little past page 100. I look forward to reading part 3 to the Shelton Heights series in May.
